Center of cone shifted from about 20 miles offshore to 20 miles inland. Better for keeping winds from getting stronger but probably not much difference in amount of rainfall but possibly more heavy rains inland.

Overall still a PITA.

Firing some convection over the center again but that shear really did some work on Beta this morning. Which is good because the fight to keep dry air out is harder for a storm to win when disorganized.

Additionally, dry air even if it doesn't get entrained in the center will still limit the overall size somewhat and hopefully mean the rain potential, while quite high with the slow motion, might not produce the widespread flooding of some recent stallers.

Hopefully.

Storms firing back over the center, this is how Marco was able to attain hurricane status. The thing to watch today is to see if Beta can form a core of deep storms near the center.

Wouldn’t be upset if this wet weather gets out of SELA by tomorrow - supposed to go fishing.

ETA- the convection allowing models aren’t looking so kind for my plans.

The storm seem to be losing their punch as they move inland over Louisiana - is that the impact of the drier air moving in behind that front?

Most of our storm drains are still compromised with debris. Even moderate rainfall will give us significant problems.
