Can you imagine living around Lake Charles and seeing this current projection?? Really sucks.
Sure can
As long as tarps hold on roofs it shouldn’t be too bad. Might delay people getting power though.

NHC seems to think this will pick up speed once it makes the turn which is much more reasonable. Hopefully this doesn't dump too much rain on anyone. Currently it's dumping on us in the Northshore but it's all extremely light continuous rain right now that's easily manageable. If anything, we kinda needed this rain here.

I've seen rain on radar sit just east of Baton Rouge all morning. Is that a wall of drier air or something?

There specific spot on Galveston you take your dogs to run or could I take mine anywhere? They’ve never been and I bet they’d love it (particularly the Vizsla)

Edge of a trough.

Front coming in has high pressure with it. Makes air want to sink and has brought some drier air too yes. Additionally the trough axis is getting less helpful at lifting as lifts out to the NE and the storms are well away from the center of the tropical system.
All in all, makes the rain fade fast south to north.

I was just going to say it’s Voodoo, but this will work too.

Anyone else feels like this storm isn’t going to the Texas coast but rather to LA?
Posted on 9/19/20 at 12:24 pm to Duke
Is there really supposed to be that much rain associated with this storm for southwest LA? I’m seeing 4 or 5 inches over 4 or 5 days, but that’s not something that’s going to get me worked up and I live a little north of lake Charles.

That's one of the uncertain pieces here. Goes inland and SWLA to the east with flow off the water and the rain totals could stack up but the bigger rain threat would still appear to be Texas but all of south Louisiana needs to be aware of it.

Flying in/out of Houston these next few days. What are the chances the airports will have delays or cancelled flights?
Posted on 9/19/20 at 12:52 pm to Duke
If predictions are as "accurate" as Sally, it hits NOLA area just west of Lake Pontchartrain.
