I wasn’t expecting all of the negativity from this place. My girlfriend’s 9 year old daughter comes over a couple days a week to play with him after school until I finish up work. He started counting backwards the other day and we were all shocked because nobody taught him that. He had to have learned it from YouTube so all of the haters need to get with the times.

First someone is letting their 15yr old "go out riding around with a friend" at 12:30 at night and now you're just plunking your 3yr old down in front of the computer for hours.

And people wonder what's wrong with younger generations.

Because shitty parents don’t think they are shitty parents as long as they throw money at the problem - or “child”

You let your 3 year old watch YouTube for hours? You know that’s shitty parenting right? YouTube isn’t your babysitter. My 3 year old gets 30 minutes of screen time a day while we have breakfast. The rest of the day no tv. FaceTime with the grandparents is the only phone time he gets.
Someone give this guy a cookie. He seems to want one very bad.

How about you take some time out of your busy schedule and be a dad.. or mom, or an it, they. them or whatever it wants you to be..

You are the parent. It’s an all time job. Not a full or part time job. Get off of your lazy arse and be that!!

Total cringe. My kids get tv but not “hours” at a time. We tell them to pound sand and go play in the playroom or go outside.

Tell him to stop being a whiny pussy. Tell him about how there used to only be three tv channels and if you missed your favorite show, tough shite.

I just purchased YouTube premium because I got tired of hearing my 3 year old cry every time an ad interrupted his show. This has been a great purchase and allows me to let him watch for hours and not be disturbed. He’s really advanced for a 3 year old, so I was hoping that some of you guys with older kids could share some good YouTube channels that I could introduce to him. He’s pretty bored with Blippi and Cocomelon at this point. TIA
every time I open this thread I feel more and more sorry for your poor kid.

My son is only 17 months but I’ve never even let him look at a TV much less an iPad and YouTube. I can’t imagine things will change that much in the next year where I’m purchasing YouTube subscriptions so he doesn’t cry because the ads…. Jesus Christ I’m really blown away at the disconnect parents have

Get with the times? I get that shoving an ipad in front of your kid is popular these days but that doesn't make it right. You are fricking your kid up if you let him "learn" from youtube.

You need to father him through that or will develop bad habits and attitude about delayed satisfaction.

Hours uninterrupted? Spend some time with him. I understand every now and then but should not be a regular thing that you are on this bored asking. Get him outside. Riding a bike. My daughter just turned two and already knows how to ride a bike with very little training wheel help.
