Best youth church group in BR?

Son is entering middle school. I remember how much we enjoyed youth groups back in the day. Our current church is small so I’m looking for a bigger group for him.
Istrouma...Healing Place...Parkview? Convert him to Catholic? We are Methodist, live in Southdowns. Not sure where to try first. Was hoping for advice from someone who has gone through the process.

The only answer here.

Do any of his friends attend a different youth group?
May be easier if he went with a friend instead of not knowing anyone

Wiccans or Unitarian Universalists

What do Catholics do for groups during the awkward middle school years?

Not a big fan of youth groups. If you're picking a church based on how much fun your kid has in youth group, you're teaching them the wrong point to church.

I grew up attending University Methodist and was active in their youth group. Not sure how big it is now, but was very active then.

Good to know. We were definitely thinking about giving them a try. It’s nearby as well.

We would always meet on Wednesday nights and have an open gym/group session. We also had events all throughout the year on the weekends. Even had a few white water rafting, beach, and ski trips sprinkled in.

Tell them all their natural thoughts, feelings and urges are bad and sinful. At least that's what my catholic school did.

Same here. I wouldn’t have gotten to travel and see many parts of America if it wasn’t for youth group since my parents rarely took us anywhere fun. Plus it’s a lot more fun going with a group of kids around your age.

I hated it so much. My parents went to one of those giant arse baptist churches for a while so I’d go to the top floor and hide.

Yeah, why make religion fun for kids...
I get the just of what you're saying, but dragging a 6 and 3 year old into mass every Sunday and being able to get anything out of it, as an adult, is impossible. Youth groups, Sunday school, etc... help engage children with fun activities while simultaneously teaching kids about Christianity.

Kids learn from their parents. If you take it seriously and are sincere in your worship, they will take it seriously as well.
And that's not saying church has to be dry and boring for it to be right, but your emphasis should focus on worshipping God and learning to be a good Christian, not how much entertainment they have for your kids.

You don't have kids, do you? Bring a 6 and 3 year old boy into church. See how well that goes for you.

I have a pile of kids. They've been sitting still in church since before they turned 1. I don't take them to the nursery. We don't give them a bunch of toys to play with.
Now I understand that I'm on one extreme, but picking your church based on entertaining your kids is the way you get kids who see the church as meaningless unless it caters to them 100% of the time.
