How do yall care for your polos? I wash them then lay the out flat to dry so they don't shrink.

Problem is they end up kind of stiff.

I could let them get almkst dry then throw it in the dryer but I fear that even that would shrink them.

What do yall do?

Wash with vinegar first time (It holds the color). Cold wash (Perm press). Hang dry. Iron. I have polos from 13 years ago that still look new.

I wash mine on cold and air dry them and I’ve only found Ralph Lauren polo shirts to get stiff afterward. I mainly wear Roundtree and Yorke polo shirts now and they don’t get stiff at all.

Regular high heat dryer. If you can afford shirts you can afford new ones every five years.

Tell my wife not to shrink them when she does the wash?

Seriously... if they are prone to shrinking, why not buy them a size bigger and wash and dry them a few times before wearing... then they should be the right size.

The few times I actually tried to do my own laundry, I made several of my polos square. If they shrunk uniformly, it would be better. Since I lacked the domestic talent to do laundry, iron and do dishes, I went ahead and got married. Problem solved.

I wash everything in cold water unless there is a stain (hot water isn't even turned on to the washing machine right now). We have an infant who has crap (baby food and literally crap sometimes)all over his clothes all the time and have never had issues getting it out with cold water so far. Then put it in the dryer on the lowest possible heat setting.

When I lived in the fraternity house in college, I had to go to a Laundromat and they had these HUGE dryers that you could run with no heat. It gave a lot of room for the clothes to tumble, so room temp air could dry your clothes in around 30 minutes. I want a dryer like that in my house. I've had polo's last 10 years.

I turn all collard shirts inside out and button the top button then wash on cold. Also hang dry inside out with the collar popped and buttoned. This makes them lay flat and even when you wear them. someone told me this trick years ago and it was life changing.

I wear polo, VV, and brooks brothers

The key is buy good ones to begin with and not all "brands" are the same quality. When picking one out, the most important part is the collar. If it has a shitty collar, you're screwed from the git go.
