We just got the 2025 Chevy Traverse and this thing is very nice basically a smaller Tahoe for 20k cheaper than the Tahoe. Buckket seats in back and 3rd row were a must for the wife

The new traverse is sweet. Love the redesign

OP, your wife should buy a Wrangler. It will hold it’s value and she’ll have fun

24 traverse here. LT is 40k MSRP. Love it so far.
Had a 17 explorer for 7 years prior no complaints.

4Runner duh cars.com plenty brand new THIS YEAR NOT THE GARBAGE 2025 under 50k or are you the type that can’t buy off the internet and chooses to buy local? If you do then pay local prices. You can have it delivered or fly and drive but hurry.

The previous gen 2019-2024 5 Series, 2019-2025 X5 have been extremely solid and reliable.
The 2018 we had was excellent, as has been the 2025 ( thus far)

Things don't always stay the same in the car business except for Range Rover.

I stand corrected about the price point though, they are more than I remembered.

Bought wife a 2024 Touring earlier this year for 49k.

Excellent decision.

My boss is buddies with a guy that owns a local Ford dealership so we drive Fords for company vehicles. For some reason I always had it in my head Ford sucked, but after putting 200,000 miles on two different AWD Ford Edge Titaniums I was surprised how well they both held up. They drove good and were reliable. I got caught in 7-8 snow and ice storms and that AWD sure made a difference. I opted for the Edge over the larger Explorer because it’s easier to park in tight spots when I’m making sales calls. I’d prefer the Explorer if I just drove my company vehicles around town or if I was a larger or taller person.

Do the 2025 4Runners have the new engine everybody is bitching about?

My daughter’s is a 2012 and she is still holding on to it. She has had it since 14 FTR.

No idea on the new engine but I will say when something is good dont F with it.

my first thought is a 4Runner with a V8 - last year for those is 2009, which doesn't bother me and it's what my wife drives. If/when it gets replaced, will be a Sequoia w/ 5.7 or a Lexus GX or a Land Cruiser ... nothing else will be considered, we keep vehicles a long time and Toyotas have been bullet proof for us

Depends on size you need.

Toyota Lexus Honda accura all are reliable and easy to fix.

I have a GX460 and love it but depends on size she wants. It’s 4 wheel drive and can check the off-road capability box without sacrificing luxury

Get a used 2022 GX. Low miles and will last forever. Just get ready to pay a shitload for gas.

I had a Chevy traverse - I loved it

Some arse hole ran into me and totaled it - no one in the car was really hurt. The car did its job protecting us.

I would buy another one, but I’d rather be higher off the ground.

I feel this. But a little more for gas each fill up is better than getting wrecked once or twice a year fixing a mechanical issue on a GMC/Chevy/Ford.

I haven’t read the entire thread but if I was in your situation, I would be looking for a slightly used 4Runner at a higher there package than the SR5. Nothing wrong with that package but I have a feeling she’d like the limited a little more.
