Louisiana is the only state where every metric is ranked in the bottom ten and all but one is in the bottom five.

I'd live in (non-seattle) Washington and the SLC region of Utah

Idaho would be a strong consideration but I have never been there

NE, NH, and Minn...Frick NO

It truly is a shitastic state, and the list doesn't even take into consideration how shitty our climate is

ETA: never mind, I suppose Natural Environment takes climate into consideration

Nope. "The natural environment ranking looks at the quality of air and water in a state, as well as exposure to pollution and toxins."

Makes sense for Louisiana to be at the bottom of that one.

How is Alaska ranked 46th in natural environment? Rhode Island is 7th?

The input there makes zero sense.

Do you really have to live in a shithole to enjoy a boil?

NH is beautiful with tons of outdoor possibilities, although if you don’t like the cold it’s probably not the place for you

Will be moving to Utah in the future.

Idaho is like a best-kept secret. Sun Valley, Coeur D'Alene, Idaho Falls are beautiful.

Why is healthcare the number 1 ranked item? For a large portion of the population, it's irrelevant. Whereas factors like economy, crime, opportunity, education, and infrastructure are relevant to most people.

Call me crazy, but if I'm choosing where I'm going to live as a 30 something year old starting a family, crime, education, and the economy of the area factors in a hell of a lot more than "healthcare".

The only one of these that is a hard no for me is Nebraska.

Utah and Idaho are pretty high up there for me if I ever get out of Louisiana.

Yes, it's a beautiful state but too rural for me. If I lived in NH, I'd have to live near the border to MA and close to Boston.

And as a diehard Yankees fan... FRICK BOSTON

I would put LA, MS, AL, and AR over the current shithole states like IL, CA, NY, and MI.

At least they used the correct flag for MS:
