I really don’t get public proposals anyway. Tacky as frick. But doubling down during another event is just weird. Why make a private moment public? Kinda puts the lady on the spot because there’s an audience expecting a yes.

I do agree to an extent that it's her moment and he inserted himself into it, but then again I think all public proposals are totally lame. No reason to make a spectacle out of a private moment. But, claiming this is his way of diminishing her as a woman is ridiculous.

While I think it may have been more appropriate to do at a later time as doing it during the actual ceremony is a bit tacky IMO, I think the outrage / how they are reading into it is a bit ridiculous.
