Imagine being a person who must find outrage and take issue with everything you encounter. I have found that person.
The setup - Guy proposes to his long-time girlfriend as she receives her Master's Degree. He comes on stage and drops to a knee as the crowd of friends, family and college faculty applauds. She says "yes"!
How do these people view the event however?

“Imagine being a man and feeling so threatened by a woman's intellectual success that you have to force her to frame her identity/agency in relation to you on the very day she is being celebrated for her intellect. Oh wait, that's like 99.9% of men.” Dr. Jana Bacevic of the University of Cambridge
quote:
"This does not bode well for the relationship,” Aisha Ali-Khan, an organizer for the Women's March in London, told the Telegraph in agreement. "When someone craves such public attention and adulation all the time, there can only be space for one person and their ego in that relationship."
quote:
“Blimey. That was her moment. And he couldn’t stand it. Had to make it about him,” one user sneered. “Pathetic manchild. I hope she reconsiders when she sees the video.”

Brits should be more concerned about the Muslims infiltrating their country than this boring proposal.

I actually agree with this

Some people are so miserable they want other people to be as miserable as they are.....

Or the fact that their navy can’t take on a couple of bay boats to protect their assets.

Stop making articles about random tweets with barely any reach. This has 142 retweets. No one actually feels this way. It’s like making an article about what the drunk arse 80 year old said at the end of the bar last night and then saying “WOW EVERYONE FEELS LIKE THIS”

Despite intense public backlash, the bride-to-be insists that the “amazing” proposal made her special graduation day “even more beautiful.”
That's all that fricking matters.
I wouldn't want to propose at an event like he did, but as long as she loved it, who cares?

I bet they single.
And complain about no good options left in the world

This type of article is the stuff Fox News lives for

It's kind of a weird moment to do it. I think my GF would be upset by it in all honesty. Still a ridiculous thing to bitch about. Especially if she said yes...she looks in the picture like she loved it...so frick off feminazi's

Essex deleted the tweet and had to put out that she was happy. Yeah, zero outrage

"That's so strange that Edgaras was getting a lot of criticism from people. I think that this day became even more beautiful with this proposal,” she said. "I remember myself standing on the stage. I was a little bit nervous, but extremely happy.
"Then, all of a sudden I saw Edgaras coming, but everything happened so quickly that it took me some time to understand what actually happened.
"He knelt on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in so much shock and of course I said yes.
"Everyone cheered and it was an amazing proposal which truly took me by surprise.”

I do agree that it’s an odd moment to propose.
It doesn’t bother me tho.

I bet they didn't take the time to ask her how she felt about it...

They probably talked about marriage before and decided "lets get married after I graduate".
He couldn't wait another minute because he is in love with her.
Or some shite idk
