Was coming here to say that. It's enough to give one pause on a purchase

Buy an old one. Just like cars now, new ones are junk.

Why would anyone...
1 buy an rv
2 buy a new rv
Both are moronic

Buy a tandem axel trailer. 4 tires on the ground. I bought a used one in 1985, used it for a number of years, sold it for more than I paid for it.
Bought a new one in 1987, sold it in 1993, very little loss in value.
I’ve camped since the late 50’s early 60’s.

If I really needed one, I would buy a higher end used one. Plenty of dealerships between Lafayette and Hammond.
Thank you for that. It puts things into perspective. Im looking at Oliver’s.

Make the drive to Rick’s RV Sales in Ville Platte. Incredible people and the service center is top notch and won’t rip you off. It’s the only place I will ever go.
This right here! Bought my last camper from them and they are excellent. Knowledgeable about everything you need to know. Service department is top notch. I had a leveling jack go bad and they quoted me around $1000 to fix it. They started the work and found a broken wire. Only charged me to repair the wire. They could have installed the new jack and charged me much more. Gabe and Tyler are awesome people.

Those vans or so practical but damn they are expensive. When you calculate how many nights of use vs how many nights you could stay in a hotel, it’s hard to even closely justify the cost.
Ive been looking at this for a while now. You really have to live on the road to justify the price.
A used one starts around 50K.
Plus if you dont build it out yourself, Its going to be expensive. The time and cost alone of a setup is big.

Yes, very honest people there.
I had a small tear in my roof that caused the decking to rot about 2 inches across. I thought for sure it was going to be a roof replacement, which they said if they had to do that it would be $8k. They came back and said it was small enough for them to cut out the rot and put a vent in its place, $120 including part and labor. I was jumping for joy.
