In Hattiesburg for the weekend

Managed construction of a pipeline over there back in 2014. I usually would fly into Mobile and drive over about every other week for about 3 days. The only thing I did besides manage my job was train BJJ (there is a really good Pedro Sauer school there) and eat at Tropical Smoothie by the Academy.

That's all I got other than there seem to be a high level of really attractive women there. Seemed unusual.

A guy I went to high school with does crawfish down there. I think it’s called South Mississippi Crawfish Company in Oak Grove.

Cook Out if you've never had it. Insanely cheap fast food that's decent.

Drive down to BSL tomorrow and go to TBT for some. Had them there today, Drew said they’ll be even better tomorrow...they were damn good today.

Lakefront grocery, about 10 minutes away in Petal. Best pulled pork and brisket I’ve had in Mississippi

Used to be a good Thai restaurant over by the Ford dealership. Can’t remember name. It’s been there forever.

Best restaurant I know of in Hattiesburg is called “Georgia Blue”...shrimp and grits is the go-to dish.

I think crescent city closed to rebrand as Mexican restaurant.

Oh no it was the sister restaurant Purple Parrot. Never mind. I have not been to either but heard good things about both.

No fricking way. That bar was my favorite spot in town. Spent many of youth soccer weekends up there.

Dairy Queen or Wards. I loved some Wards in Southeast Louisiana in the 80’s but it’s long gone here.

Georgia blue shut down a while ago. Purple parrot is becoming a Mexican place.

The Porter in downtown Hattiesburg hasn’t been mentioned that I recommend. Probably the best tasting meatloaf w/their homemade sauce I’ve ever had. They brew a couple of their own beers there as well as have a pretty decent selection.
