I always thought Thibodaux was a good central location.
About an hour to the coast/GI, hour to Nola, and an hour to BR.

IMO Thibodaux is a good suggestion. That’s a nice town if you want that old Cajun feel.

But if you want nicer grocery stores and more restaurants; Mandeville works along with northern Ascension.

Madisonville is good but do not be in a position to rely on that damn draw bridge.

If you dont want to pay for schools, Mandeville or Ascension are your only options

A little over an hour but the correct answer is Grand Isle

Thibodaux

Would be my pick, especially with Grand Isle being just a 90 minute drive.

I want to say St. Charles Parish has the best elementary system in the state. I work in New Orleans and just bought in St Rose. We love it out there. Small, quiet and away from everything.

90th (Hahnville) and 134th (Destrehan) ranked ACT scores out of public schools only

No bueno

I dont think they arent bad schools, and produce good kids, but I would not say they are good schools worth moving to if that is what is important to someone when making a decision between other areas
