I filled with State Farm the day after Ida, I haven’t even gotten an estimate yet. It ridiculous that it’s taking this long. The only reason my home is livable right now is because I didn’t wait on insurance before starting repairs.

ASI which is now progressive is probably the best carrier in the state.

State Farm is like Budweiser beer….nobody will admit to drinking it, but it is probably the most popular beer on the planet, so it can’t be all that bad.

Just got my estimate! State Farm has lost their ever loving mind!

What are my options to fight this insanity?

Get estimates from licesensed contractors and submit back to state farm. Thats what I plan to do if mine comes in lower than needed.

Hire a public adjustor or go appraisal process. It takes half a year but your chances are better. Only 2-3% of denied claims go that route because you have to leave your damages unmitigated so the ins company can have their appraiser look at the damage. We just did it and after buckets in attic and mold remediation they finally paid. Crooks

Be prepared, StateFarm estimate stated to frame up a 10’x14’ shed was $156 in labor and to paint it was $56 dollars paint and labor. To replace my metal roof on my home that had trees through it they estimate under $5,000. This is the stuff I know without any construction knowledge are completely insane.I’m sure the rest of the estimate is just as stupid.

True statement in Louisiana for sure.

In Louisiana, State Farm has 23.7% of the Homeowners market. Second is Farm Bureau with only 4.5%.

Like many have already said, USAA if you can get it. The premiums may be a bit higher but the customer service is outstanding.

We just paid a huge increase to move from Allstate to USAA. We just lost all confidence in Allstate/our agent over the last few years and it was worth it to pay more for the assurance.

USAA is actually pretty damn obnoxious with their level of detail, but I can have a knowledgeable and helpful person on the phone in 90 seconds. Our Allstate agent practically had a mental breakdown when he saw our new rates. I felt bad for him, I essentially had to say "yeah, this is what we're willing to pay to move on from your firm."

USAA was the best 20 years ago, but premiums have greatly increased and payouts decreased.

My mom has MS Farm Bureau and they pay claims very well.

I'd like to get progressive with Flo. What happened to Erin from Esurance? She was hot!!!!

This is the correct answer with other High Net Worth companies, Cincinnati and Vault.

High Net Worth carriers only write homes over a million dollars. You get what you pay for and there is no comparison when it comes to coverage and service.

I have State Farm. $1600.00 a year. But I have a original royal oak hanging over my house.
