It was between that, a hedge trimmer or an impact driver.

But if I have 2 regular drills and a hammer drill do I really need the impact driver?

Those 4ah batteries are awesome.

Tempted to buy another set and get either the impact driver or an angle grinder if I can find one

get a half inch drive corded drill from harbor freight .. if your dock is over salt water use stainless screws and zinc dipped bolting.

Get a Senco auto feed drill. Will make your life much easier. My friend helped me build a deck with one and when it came time to lay the deck we knocked it out in a few hours after a day and a half to frame it.

Both are good. Get the driver first if you ask me though

Like this one. What a price. That ratchet is freaking awesome. Working on four wheelers and lawn mowers and vehicles. Awesome

I use Bosch. Driving screws is a big part of our job. Batteries are interchangeable on drills, drivers, flashlight and radio. Batteries have not changed size in last 15 years or so.
Real good warranty service. Bosch.

others are saying some of the top name brands, but those are typically high dollar. I have built/remodeled houses, barns, mobile homes, etc. for what you're doing, definitely need an impact and battery powered these days is just great. I bought a set many years ago when I was poorer. I think its an under rated brand, but porter-cable is what I have. For a couple hundred bucks at the time, it had a bag, a case with bits, a regular drill, an impact drill, and two batteries/ charger. IDK how many decks, homes, sheet metal roofs/barns I've built or remodeled since then and I have not had any issues with either drills or batteries.

Maybe you drill pilot holes first. Is your driver setting on 1? That’s the highest torque. If that doesn’t work Milwaukee would be my suggestion.

The OP made the mistake of buying a drill and not an Impact Wrench

Impact driver, not wrench. Big difference.

I use Dewalt all day every day. Just not the cheaper ones.

Go for the 20v. It's well worth the money.

Love my ryobi lithium drill. Great tool for a home owner.
Other tools in that line are great too. Portable vacuum is very very handy.

Thanks an ok kit, but I would recommend the fuel version m12. They usually run a special during the holidays and you can get the cheap m12 ratchet for free.

I swore by corded drills for years. Bought a Porter Cable set that had a drill and an impact driver. 20V lithium brushless. That impact driver had changed my life. No lie. Short work out of anything, even driving deck screws into 50 year old joists in my basement to hang things from. I feel like Tim the Toolman, more power.
