This thread sucks and not because it's an attention whoring thread, but simply because it gives nowhere near enough for people to respond well.

It's like saying...I need to live somewhere. Tell me.

Kind of need a bit more information.

Someone with enough money to do it and not sweat it.

Not poor people...

The average new car price is $35,000, $50k isn't exactly a lot.

I spend more time working from my truck than my office. Travel with family, pull my SxS to the farm, haul my tractor, Lowes trips, then back to work taking clients to lunch. It serves many more purposes than lots of other waste that I have. I guess we just look at them differently.

Why even spend $35k? A nice car can be had for much less if you're willing to go CPO, plus you don't lose the shite ton of depreciation right off the front end.

There's so much more worth spending money on. Honestly, I know about 7 people total who can truly drop that money and never know it was gone. Very few people on this board, if any, are in that bracket.

I get what you're saying, but who says you gotta drop money on a brand new car? It's such a waste up front.

You call it losing on depriciation. Some call it paying for the best part of the life of the vehicle and getting a warranty and sometimes maintenance plan. Might be worth the 5-7k hit for some. Both my Lexus and Infiniti come with warranties that blow your standard 3 year 36k out the water. Plus the service departments blow your typical dealership out of the water.

The warranties on most CPOs are better than on the cars when they were new. You also can get a good idea about whether or not the car is a lemon by looking over it's service history. You have data to review if you're doing it right. The maintenance plan is typically a luxury vehicle thing, and that's pretty good. But you can get those on luxury CPOs as well.

Well, yeah. I think I was clear that those were good cars.

I'm sure that's probably true.

KIAs and Hyundais are 10yr/100k. And we've got a KIA dealer locally that warranties their powertrains for LIFE as long as you have all recommended maintenance performed. Doesn't matter where you have the maintenance or the service work done, either. I tend to think that's a great deal.

Because not everyone wants to drive a used shite box.

You have to to consider resale values. Not all cars depreciate at the same rate.
