Heading to Baton Rouge from GA and inquiring about what’s the best brewery and wood fire pizza place.

Not sure if Agile brewing open by then but will be a great place. Rally Cap, Tin Roof. Istrouma is a unique atmosphere with ok beer.

Where you headed exactly? Le Chien in Denham Springs which is Baton Rouge metro. Also a small brewery called Gilla in Gonzales right next door to a great taco place.

Rocca is the best wood fired pizza (Neapolitan, specifically) and with that in mind, I would say Cypress Coast Brewing right down the road. Tap room isn't much to look at, but solid beer.

You sound like a millineal, bearded guy. Just grab a six pack of miller light tall boys outside the fence at at plant. Only way to enjoy Baton Rouge.

Cypress Coast and Rally Cap. That pizza place is down the road from Cypress. Cypress coast will have the widest variety of good beers. They kinda make whatever they want and it’s always good beer.

I have to say Abita is worth the drive. I went probably 12yrs ago and was amazed at the food. Was expecting typical bar fare but had Boudin stuffed Quail paired with a nice beer.
Its also a cool little town with an old town square.

Throw in another vote for Cypress Coast and Rally Cap. If I had a preference I'd go Cypress Coast but both are great.

Let me just say that’s it is astounding that this is a question now. 20 years ago you had Abita and Abita.

It’s not all bad, guys. What a time to be alive.

Gilla in Gonzales has the best beer. If the Nola Mia food truck is there, that pizza is outstanding. If no food truck, there is a Mexican restaurant for pickup next door to Gilla. If they have it, don’t turn your nose up at the Ghetto Superstar frozen drink, it’s excellent. Mellifera, Brannigan, Tangerine Dreams and STTDB are all solid beers.

Rally Cap has some good beer but no food usually. SBRHGN is an excellent Oatmeal Stout.

Only have been to Cypress Coast once. Enjoyed the beers and Fleur De Lis Pizza, a BR staple, is across the side street and the brewery shares a parking lot with Gov’t Taco.

Le Chien in Denham Springs has very good beer selections. The food truck offers handpies, for both entree choices and desserts.

Tin Roof is a decent stop, haven’t been a fan of their selection but many on the board have suggested it.

Istrouma has a great setup—old barn/farm with pizza offerings but I like their beer choices the least.

Other nearby breweries: Gnarley Barley in Hammond about 40 minutes from BR. Bayou Teche Brewing in Arnaudville, about an hour away but a nice Cajun feel, some off the wall brews and excellent pizza.

If y’all want to hit distilleries, Sugarfield in Gonzales and 3 Rolls in BR.

Have fun.
