Are we not counting desserts as foods? If we are then I vote for Doberge cake, Dong Fong King Cake or CDM Beignets. All are synonymous with Louisiana. Of the 3, only the Doberge Cake is Native to Louisiana with the King Cake and Beignets coming from France.

Mac’s speed shop? That is some good food.

Prince’s or Hattie B’s for hot chicken.

No love for sauteed crab claws? That's good eating right there

Date stuffed with chorizo and wrapped in bacon

Was in my hometown for my mom's birthday and had a goat cheese stuffed date wrapped in bacon; it was one of the best things i've ever put in my mouth.

Yes I said it

For WA it's probably Totten Inlet or Olympia oysters. Other than seafood it's not a big food state. The most iconic restaurant is a hamburger drive-in.

Crawfish isn’t even close to the best food Louisiana has to offer. And crawfish are damn good

To me boiled crawfish has always been about the event with friends and family more than the he food itself.

Checked back on this thread to see new responses and saw a thread that listed Dicks as the best food. Immediately had to back track through to see who you were responding to. Glad to see you talking about a hamburger joint and not your favorite food.

I really liked their food. There’s another chain there..burgerville I think? It wasn’t bad. When I climbed Rainier two years ago I tried both.

Burgerville is more Portland, but yeah, pretty good.

Crawfish are great but it’s just the seasoning that makes them good. You can put anything in that boil and it will taste good.

Roast beef po-boy on NOLA made French bread, dressed and messy. I love crawfish. I love shrimp. I love beignets and snowballs. But the one essential for me is that roast beef po-boy. And of course, made by one of them neighborhood corner places you find all over town.

How can frozen crinkle cut fries be one of the best bites from the state?

I think there's a chicken fried steak under all that mess.

Pork Shoulder Grillades & Grits with an egg over easy from Brennan's is the best bite I've ever had.

LA — Johnny’s “Sweep the Swamp” pizza ... just throw all the crap on there and bake it

Just kidding, I’d say either blackened redfish or gumbo.

Most of the pleasure with crawfish is from the whole experience of food, beer and friends, it should not be considered a “one bite” favorite.
