quote:. This here. Dude was stoned / drunk out of his mind. Sang shite no one had ever heard of and even tried rapping some. Sang 30 seconds of “You never called me by my name” then left the stage. I honestly don’t think he even knew where he was.
Worst David Allan Coe dude was drunk AF

The best was Pink Floyd, Division Bell Tour, Oakland Coliseum. Honorable mention goes to Rage Against the Machine at the Sloss Furnace in Birmingham, 1996. Perfect venue to see them in their prime.
The worst was Smashmouth. I didn't set out to see them but they played at a 4th of July festival I was at.

Best: Cage the Elephant at Shaky Knees this year was phenomenal. Didn't care one bit that there was a goddamn monsoon going because how insane the crowd was going.
Worst: Hollywood Undead gave a pretty meh performance and the people that opened for them were terrible

Been to many good ones. Not as big of names as some of the others have listed, by my favorites have been ZZ Top, almost every Robert Earl Keen concert I’ve been to. Turnpike Troubadours(before Evan started getting blackout pre-show) with The Black Lillies opening was probably my favorite.
Have had a few memorable worst too. David Allan Coe was drunk as hell. As was Pat Green. Cross Canadian Ragweed was pretty bad. Cody Canada felt like he needed to tell a story before every song detailing when and where he wrote said song.

The music and show would be good in a concert hall or a small venue. But he’s dumb for trying to sell out arenas. The huge area sucks any semblance of life out of the show. His boring personality and no energy is a recipe for disaster.

If there is anything we can take from this thread is that David Allan Coe doesn't just sing about being a drunk. He talks the talk and walks the walk.

Best was Garth, Dustin Lynch surprisingly, and Lil Wayne circa 2008 or so in his heyday. Have also seen Afro-Man twice and he is very talented
Worst was Snoop at Varsity in 2011 or so. He was over an hour late to come out because of Lakers playoff game or something. 3-6 Mafia at house of blues was not great.

The 92 Guns N' Roses concert in the PMAC will always be one I remember fondly because it was the first concert where I waited outside all day with my best friends to get close to the stage when they finally opened the doors. Ah, to be 15 again....
The early 311 shows at the Varsity were awesome.
Incubus at the Varsity was terrible. They played for 35 minutes and wondered why the crowd was so unhappy when they didn't even do an encore.

Worst: Red Hot Chili Peppers. They were terrible in concert..only thing that saved that concert was Snoop Dogg.

Best: Slipknot or Iron Maiden
Worst: David Allen Coe
I'm probably the 6th to pick DAC. He was horrible. What a disappointing show.

Mojo Nixon at WC Don’s in Jackson, summer of 1989.
I’ve been to concerts that were bigger, and louder, and had bigger headliners, but none that were as fun as Mojo Nixon in concert.

Worst was The Goo Goo Dolls.
Best was probably Limp Bizkit. I know, I know. Sounds lame, but Fred Durst can actually put on a sick show and a lil no name band called Staind opened up for them. It was pretty awesome.

Best
Styx at Hirsch in 78. Great show.
U2 in Houston at the Toyota center.
U2 at Superdome.
Garbage at the Fillmore.
Sturgill at the Saenger.
Steve Winwood at HOB.
Worse
U2 at Cowboy stadium. Sound was terrible. Muse opened and they weren’t nearly as bad sound wise.

Best: Saw Mötley Crüe on the Red White & Crüe reunion tour at UNO back in ‘05 and then again on the Route of all Evil tour in ‘06 at the River Center. Also saw both legs of The Final Tour in Bossier City and Smoothie King Center and these four show were by far the best.
2nd Best: Three way tie between Ted Nugent @ The Texas Club In 2011, Ratt @ Hard Rock Biloxi in May 2019 and Steel Panther @ The Fillmore New Orleans in June 2019.
Worst: Vince Neil @ Hard Rock Biloxi in June 2017. Love the guy but he just doesn’t have it anymore, especially without Mötley Crüe where I’m sure he’s contractually obligated to sing the entire song without relying on the audience to sing half of it for him. Also, his voice just no longer sounds like the young, aggressive, “yeah, I wear makeup but I’ll still frick you up” Vince Neil of the 80’s.

I love George Strait but the last time I saw him, he pushed his son’s music the whole time and it was annoying.
