Atlanta is big, but easy once you get the hang of it. BWI is smaller, less crowded and easy too.

Dulles and DFW suck. Reagan is dangerous.

DFW is a disaster for connections

I connect thru DFW all the time and have no problems. IAH is much harder for connections in my experience

As an Ohioan I loved the Monroe airport, so small and easy to get through- plus drive through daiquiris once you leave.

After taking a couple of cruises from there, I say Miami is a complete clusterfark....

I don't mind so much when landing, but of disembark day and there are 6 ships in port, that airport is a zoo.

Kansas City used to be the worst, but I believe they have a new terminal.

Charlotte CLT is my least favorite big airport. Crowded concourses, no people mover, E terminal is a level of hell.

Not that good in terms of dining options either.

I’m in and out of Nashville a good bit and really like it. I also like Love Field in Dallas.

Nashville's airport sucks arse, they do not have the necessary infrastructure in place to handle high demand weekends. I routinely see people having to walk to the terminal to make their flight because the roads get so backed up with traffic and a car is the only way you can get there.

I truly don't understand people who don't like the Atlanta airport. Like yea its fricking big but they can handle any amount of holiday traffic, you can get there via Marta to avoid driving and its layed out in a way that is easy to navigate. Not to mention that there are quite literally dozens of dining options in each terminal.

I hit Love Field for the first time this last weekend, agreed it is a well set up airport. Personally I hate Minneapolis and George Bush in Houston, both are massive and under constant construction and it takes a while to move between terminals at each airport. Not a good combo if you are catching a connecting flight.

It’s also Delta’s main hub, which is easily the best airline in the United States.

For the life of me, IAH has been under heavy construction for over a decade and have not seen one single improvement. It’s always a cluster esp if you don’t already know your way around.

Also the Eco park shuttles for some f’ing reason have to drop each person off at their actual car. Add on an hour by the time your plane lands until you actually leave the airport. I’ve gotten to where I jump off the decrepit bus as soon as it hits the lot since I’m not fat or lazy.

Detroit has the nicest airport in the country IMO. I was shocked.

The worst would be Memphis or Birmingham.

What?

B terminal (part of it) used to be a Greyhound Bus station and now it looks like a modern airport.

Best and Worst Airports in US

You really have to break it down into categories:

Big City vs. small city

International vs. Domestic

Worst Big City Airport: LAX (extremely close second is JFK)
Worst Small City Airport: MLU

Worst International Hub: DFW
Worst Domestic: MLU

Best International Hub: DTW
Best Domestic: SLC

Best Big City: CLT
Best Small City: FWA

Flew to Vegas for the first time last year.

I was shocked at how shitty that airport was.

You wouldn't have been if you saw what came before it. It was exactly what you would expect from the Ruins of Detroit. We used to refer to it as Pyongyang International. It may have been the worst major airport in N America Ever. Abysmal beyond description. Hot and humid inside 24/7/365. A McDonald's and something completely inedible were your only two restaurant options on the non-NWA side. NWA's terminal was not much better.
