I think the new LGA terminal is excellent.
Thankfully I haven’t had to go to NYC for a long time. Probably head there in the next couple of months for a steak at Keens but it will be an in and out trip down from NH.

I really hated the charlotte airport. But they were working on it last time I was there.

I’ve never had a bad experience there, even back to the USAir/ US Airways days.
Plus “CLT”

That and Cancun….

Orlando really does suck especially when tsa is backed up.

I don't get the IAH hate. Yes, it could suck to have a long connection to/from the international terminal with a short time on the ground, but it was one of those I was connecting through (domestic) on the reg and I quickly got used to it.
Seems to be many of the same folks complaining about Atlanta. For the number of flights and passengers, Atlanta is one of the best run "institutions" in the U.S. The only problem is that Delta would love every one of its flights to either originate or connect through there and that's just a lot for any airport.
I don't have as much experience with Chicago or Denver (and none for LAX) to compare. Atlanta is clearly better than DFW, IMHO, and better than Denver from what I have experienced.
Memphis isn't great, but way better than PHL or EWR. And it gets hate, but I don't mind LaGuardia. Ditto for Reagan. I've never been in JFK or Dulles (at least I don't remember).

Worst medium airport was Charleston W Virginia . Runways on top of a mountain, 1000 foot drop on each end.

Best ones I’ve been to or used multiple times…Detroit, New Orleans, Baltimore, Denver (now that security is getting slowly fixed). Atlanta is good for connections, but sucks to leave in and out of. Obviously MSY is smaller than the others and doesn’t handle a lot of connections, but other than the economy garage and car rental being on the other side of the universe, it’s smooth as butter. Austin also comes to mind as a very good mid-sized airport. Crowded, but manages to give an overall good user experience.
Worst ones that I’ve used multiple times…Orlando, Newark, Charlotte, Reagan, Boston Logan. Charlotte in particular gives me hives…an airport with no people mover has no business being a hub in 2025. Orlando is organized, but terrible because of the number of passengers going thru who don’t fly a lot and don’t know how to act. Reagan is way too crowded and aggravating. Boston is super disorganized and disjointed. And Newark…I mean, there are no words.

Ohare needs more hate. Connected from Dallas to Milan there and it's miserable. Even saw Lori Lightfoot there, not sure if she or the airport looked more decrypted

There was just construction going on and a lot of blocked off areas with black curtains. The security line was porb the smallest tightest one I have ever been in. But thats mostly because of the work that was being done.

Fancy airplane people.
Must be nice.

Regarding DEN, and it’s been a few years since I’ve been through there so it may have changed, but I always liked that you never had to worry about changing concourses there for connections. Delta and Southwest were in C. United was in B. Everybody else was in A. Connecting there was easy, now arriving and departing were diasters because the airport is basically in Nebraska and TSA could be ridiculous.

DCA is great due to proximity to the city and it’s generally really nice. I like Nashville too.
Charlotte, Miami, and SeaTac are the worst.

Isn't that just a function of geography?
Also, can you even classify that as a "medium" airport

I'm good w/ Atlanta airport -
I fly Delta - I normally go thru Atlanta when flying out of New Orleans to the NE to visit family . I plan my layover w/ some time.
It has a lot of food options and bars. I've even had a chiropractor adjustment there
Also has many Delta Sky lounges if a long layover.

That is where my wife is from. It’s a pretty terrifying approach. You just see trees getting closer annd closer until all of a sudden boom you’re on the runway.
I’ve also flown into Huntington, West Virginia. Very similar runway, and famous for the Marshall plane crash.

Surprised no one has said JAC.
Flying in, you get a closeup of the best of the Teton range. Get out of the plane, and you are rewarded with an amazing view of the Grand Teton and Cathedral range. Get to baggage, your bag will be there and you will get a mimosa and snack. Rental car spot is right next to baggage claim, and your car is about 25 yards away. You are 15 minutes from town, about 30 from JHMR.
Flying out, security is a breeze, they have comfortable armchairs, with built in chargers, surrounding fireplaces with gorgeous floor to ceiling windows. Food is decent, and the National Park gift store has nice stuff if you neglected to bring back gifts.

One hot august departure from the Charleston Wva airport, the 737 was fully loaded and after an hour delay, the pilot comes on the intercom and sez to take off, we will leave with insufficient fuel to make it to Atlanta because of the thin air/passenger load, stopping half way to pick up additional fuel.
about a half hour later the pilot sez they recalculated and we will make it to Atlanta direct. the plane goes to the edge of the run way turns in the gravel and starts the run.
we get about 100 feet off the runway and the stewardess blasts out on the intercom "WE MADE IT'

Long Beach is awesome Open air and small - through security in 5 minutes Feels like your flying in the 50's Much better than LAX
Just flew to Long Beach this spring. Loved it and so much easier than the nightmare of LAX. Burbank is easy too but doesn’t have the same upbeat vibes of Long Beach. Open air setup, baggage nearby and the car rental is across thr street.
My worst is Newark coming back from Europe. Baggage is slow as hell, angry staff and the surrounding area is a total dump.
