Looks like the last band is going to straafe us. Light rain now with sporadic wind, thunder when the heavier bands come thru. Just saw a guy loading up a generator at zLowes.??

Is this accurate? 2.7 million out of power. Damn thats a lot. I assume that is the number of meters (not actual numbers of people which would be double or triple that).

Praying yall get your power back soon, I certainly wouldnt want to be in the Texas heat without AC or at least fans.

I wonder which carrier.

You would think most providers should have the resources to manage a 24 hour blackout with as much as we have come to rely on cellular technology.

AT&T typically is the worst provider because they do not have standby generators at most cell sites. They depend on temporary units that are sent in after the storm.

Verizon at least in some areas of Louisiana will have back up natural gas or diesel generators at their tower sites.

Just drove around my part of OF. Some big trees down but not nearly as many as I expected. The derecho must have taken out a lot of the weakened. Really doesn’t look too bad, just need power back.

I have wondered about that

If an apartment complex has 100 separate units, is an outage at the complex treated as 100 or 1 in the stats?

That's a pretty stout couplet for a tropical tornado.

Decent tornado environment today in NW LA and NE TX.

It’s usually just off the meters. When the go non-comm they count it as an outage.
