Sorry to hear that. Did anybody get hurt? We had a tree come through our house during Gustav. Thankfully none of us were sitting or standing where it came through the ceiling.

No such thing when it's an act of God AKA hurricane

Still not bad since the eye came over in Sugar Land. Friends of mine on the coast between Freeport and Sargeant say not much rain now, but wind still howling as bad as earlier.

Houston took stronger winds from the thunderstorms a few months back than this hurricane

There is always that one idiot that will try and drive through standing water.

Really picking up now in the woodlands, still not too bad though. One of our cali transplant neighbors is acting like it’s the end of days

Haha yeah maybe for like 20 minutes not hours.

We’re losing trees and fences here north of the woodlands.

Up to 1.95 million without power.

Still no power but the wind seems to be dying down
Posted on 7/8/24 at 9:57 am to GeauxFish31
Anybody have an updated wind speed and forward motion? How much longer till it starts to peter out.

TC Jester and 11th. Lost power about 9:30.
White Oak Bayou is in front of my house, seriously close to topping out.

I've been there. Had trees on my house during Gustav and Ida. Sorry this happened but be thankful you're ok.

Yeah we got hit hard in West U. It’s still going. Power went out before 7 am. Downed branches, street flooding, transformers blowing, etc. Still nasty wind.
