1. Abolish/defund police because of rayciss and establish unarmed civilian city employees and community enforcement agents...whatever that is.
2. Unarmed civilian city workers and community enforcement agents take bribes from thugs and no one says anything because looking into what they are doing is rayciss and outsiders don’t understand.
3. Thugs run wild, people/businesses move away...thugs are luvin it and others complain because there’s no jobs and it’s not safe.
4. People like Gary Chambers step in and proclaim rayciss did all of this and the government needs to provide reparations and incentives.
5. Maybe a few people start to move back in, housing values go up, proclaim rayciss gentrification.
6. Community leaders proclaim the police are not doing their jobs and need to “do something.”
7. Clown world continues

quote:You really should read the Declaration of Intent on the Louisiana Application for License or Identification Card at the bottom of page 1 on the 2 page form: PDF La Drivers License form Then immediately under the terms is a signature line for license applicant and state authorized agent signature, 2 signers agreeing to abide by the terms of the contract.
That's just asinine. There's no contract on a driver's license. The laws that enabled the traffic stop, establish "implied consent" for breathalyzers and blood draws, etc., were passed before any of us were born. They don't require our signature.
Then you may also be interested in the law regarding true ownership of motor vehicles (hint, it's the state, title does not actually convey ownership, original buyer signs that away at the dealership in those forms) Here's a start on that on bottom of page-Delta Spectrum Research

The backpedaling is going to be hilarious the first time one of these unarmed city workers takes a bullet.

99% of traffic stops are a scam anyway. Unnecessary. Wish they would stop doing them on I-10.

You need some Tom Zebra. Berkeley is Beverley Hills compared to what goes down in Torrance, Hawthorne etc. Those cops don't even let bicyclists peddle without a good stop and frisk.

So the cops used the transition to motored transport as a way to sneak the concept of the traffic stop into everyday life. No free nation would tolerate such a thing.

So you are saying that under no circumstances should a cop be able to pull someone over? You can't possibly be saying that. You are either not saying that, a troll, or an idiot.

Speed limits are ridiculous in the first place - let drivers decide the speeds with which they are comfortable. I promise you most reasonably skilled drivers with well-maintained vehicles can safely cruise at about 110 on good interstates
And what happens when that reasonably skilled driver decides he can safely cruise at about 110 on the street in front of an elementary school at 7:30 on a Tuesday morning?
Honestly, some of you people are too stupid to function in a civilized society.

You're old enough to remember the national 55 SAVES LIVES campaign, right?

Yes and it was stupid. And the only thing that would be more stupid is to abolish all speed limits.

Mentioned it because just like then, speed limits are somewhat arbitrary.

Let them use the cameras, and have the cameras look for every possible violation, every time, with 0 discretion on whether or not to ticket it.
We'll see how quickly they want police discretion, and human interaction, back into the equation when they each get 95 tickets in the 1st month.
This is dumb.
A traffic law is either necessary for public safety, or it’s not. If the speed limit is 35 mph and 75% of drivers are driving 45 mph, either they should all be ticketed to change their unsafe behavior, or the speed limit should be raised. Selective enforcement is bullshite.

Would love the Berkeley PD to just release a statement and say.. OK. For the safety of our officers during this time, we will no longer preform any traffic stops. That’s the kind of experiment I’d love to see

Including you for this hypothetical that would never happen.
Totally going to blow down a neighborhood street going 110 right through a carpool lane on a neighborhood street.
What a moron.

frick that. The 4th Amendment is supposed to mean something, and every carve out that allows a "traffic stop" to turn into a search is a slap in the face to the intentions of the founders.

You’re the moron for thinking idiots won’t be blasting down streets at whatever speed they please if there wasn’t any risk of facing consequences for doing so.

You're right. People will be going 110 down every residential street next to elementary schools while kids are being dropped off. It is stone cold fact and in no way an absurd fear mongering hypothetical. Not at all.
