I don’t have any kids but I bought my house here because of Silver Rail Elementary and the community here in our neighborhood.
Bend is small. This school is even smalller.
Moms and dads pull their kids in sleds to school when it snows.
I really love this place.
We are hurting.

Man, I hate to hear your community being hit with this tragedy. I will pray for all of you.
Are there any details on the shooter? Was this totally random or did he have a connection to the school?

You can’t seriously be suggesting that that area of Oregon isn’t woke?! Is it Portland or Seattle? No, but it’s pretty far left of the average American. I travel through there pretty often. My wife is from the West.

The new library is kind of out of place - it’s not near the heart of Bend.
It’s a beautiful facility but the library downtown is the heart of Bend.
Glad you came. Last week was beautiful weather. Just like the other fifty weeks of the year.
Bend is absolutely stunning.
Oh, we also ski a lot.

I'm glad there are people with guns there, especially the baw who put an end to this.
That being said, there are probably more guns in my truck than the average person in Bend owns in total.

Yeah I've been a few time now, as my BIL lives in the Pilot Butte area up near the hospital. Yeah that weather Saturday/Sunday was divine, especially coming from Louisiana at this time of year. Brought the kids to the big pumpkin patch/maze deal in Terrebonne and had a great time.

I assumed all schools had resource officers these days. My kids does at least and there is also an Orleans Parish sheriff that sits in his unit in front of school all day!
