Oh. I misunderstood. Didn't realize the boat fled the scene. I thought he just did and the boat and driver stayed.

It was his relative and as mentioned previously he is in law enforcement. He should and does know better!

Local knowledge of incident. Kracker was passenger in boat. They hit the party barge. They initially stopped until someone in the other boat yelled out asking if they were drunk. Then they fled scene. They went to boat launch and Kracker drove the truck to try to get away. The drunk boat driver was still in the boat attached to the truck when Kracker drove off. Police caught them on the road trying to flee. Boat Driver was arrested at scene for DUI and hit and run. You can see his name in an article on The Advocate that lists all the waterway DUIs over the holiday weekend.
The party barge folks are trying to have Kracker arrested as well because he drove the getaway car. They are pretty upset that he’s a state trooper.
That’s the short version. The prequel involves both Kracker and the boat driver getting into a fight with a third guy at another camp before they took off in the boat.
