Because today's society has the attention span of a gnat and they know that. We also have a corrupt media.

I would not be surprised if it gets to the point law makers in the next few years do away with uniform patrol.
They will probably keep the other divisions. You can always give the money to the sheriffs office and local police depts to duplicate the services they provide.
Right now this shows their division under the state police umbrella is out of control.
