Looks like Roberts is also separating themselves from the petition.

It has been brought to our attention that individuals in the community have invited others to sign a recall petition outside of one of our locations. While we support community activism, Robért Fresh Market is not affiliated with this activity.

I signed over the weekend, but a recall effort cannot win unless you have big money behind it. You need websites and canvassers going door to door and real community engagement. Freaking even concerts and such.

This is a pretty small time effort.

If they get half the signatures necessary I will see that as a massive win.

If you think she’s bad now… if this fails, she will be emboldened.

I got there before it officially started so there weren't many people there, but the ones who were, yes, were white.

The 2 people that are heading up the recall are both black

Yea but gonna be honest the pictures from yesterday’s drive will probably be a optical set back for the effort.

This thing isn’t going to get off the ground if the perception is that 99% of the people trying to get rid of the black mayor are white.

Right or wrong that is terrible optics in a city like nola. Hopefully they can get the black community engaged and participating.

New Orleans blacks are extremely racist and low IQ if that's the driving factor.

This mayor, even for as removed as I am, seems to be so awful you have almost a hundred points to argue.

They didn't have a big sign saying "Whites Only". These are open events for all to come fill out paper work. I think the dominos will start dropping once more "Culture Bearers" say it's ok to sign these papers

It was held smack dab in the middle of Uptown...

Let them hold one of these signing in NOLA East, 7th Ward, 9th Ward, and Central City and see how many white people show up

I’ll say out of the gate they probably want a bit of low effort and high volume too.

It’s the first two events. I’m sure they will plan to hit many communities and events across all demographics.

Recall petitioners say they are being threatened or intimidated by the administration and some council members. Will people who sign the petition be intimidated too?

Someone tweeted that based on the 800 signatures they got yesterday an avg of 125 is needed per day for 123 days.

It is easy right now people are seeking out the signing events. In a few weeks once those people are done will this group have the resources to knock on doors.

I would also bet that they will need more than stated number because there will be a number of signatures that wont qualify.

Both Batiste and Carter say the Cantrell Administration has threatened people who they are connected to with everything from current 501c3 funding being pulled to future funding being unpromised…this is especially the case with certain “culture bearers” who support the recall.

All this will do is piss off the 75% who would still vote for her if the election were to be held tomorrow.
