Ain’t nothing wrong with getting counseling my friend. My mother passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day from a pulmonary embolism, so I’ve been getting counseling as well. Glad you could get some help and best of luck.

His activity was going to therapy.

Ah yes, because just going to therapy is the cure all. Nothing else like enjoying ones self away from people and social media couldn't at all help.

During your journey to resolve your depression, the therapist may suggest a change in diet. DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS. Absolutely be open to changing what you eat and research on your own time as well. I only say this because I ran into the same issues. SSRIs were nearly useless, only when I changed what I eat did the veil lift and the dark cloud went away.

Good luck on you travels

It sounds like we have parallel identical lives. I have a great business, great family and my kids are awesome and love me. And yet I have been miserable. I just started seeing a therapist as well. Never in a million years would I have thought I would. It’s been a few months now but I am getting better. No pills, just talking to someone.
Got off all social media (besides this site). Facebook and Twitter are fine for most people I guess but it is terrible for me and how it makes me feel.
I just lost a good friend who took his own life and I did not see it coming. Depression is a MF.
Hang in there, and my only advice is to try and find peace in little things.

I 100% know how you feel. Depression is a difficult thing to harness. It is good that you have recognized this and seeking help. God bless!

I actually went to see someone for the first time months ago after some kind posters on here ( ) recommended it and it was beneficial. Good luck, Tyga.

To anyone on here that is suffering go talk to someone. I was sucking it up thinking I was dealing with it fine when in reality I was not. People make it their career to help those in need, take advantage of this. There is no glory in dealing with it on your own.

I find this hard to masturbate to.

In all seriousness, good job getting help, and best of luck to you. Remember those who’d miss you, and stay strong. God bless.

Get you some bloodwork with an endocrinologist along with therapy.

Why?

Your hormones control much of you. I was pretty damn depressed for no reason other than being chronically ill. Unbeknownst to me a combo of meds for my illness destroyed my endocrine system. Most of my hair falling out should have been a tell...but it was my wife's persistence that got my GP to do bloodwork. Then referred to an endocrinologist.

Most normal people who are happy don't just inexplicably feel like shite, depressed, unhappy. Make sure you investigate all avenues.

Once I got those right... It been pretty good ever since.

Hormones are a bitch and it's worth getting them looked at to rule them out. I've learned first hand.

Good on you. I (re)started my fight with depression this year after ignoring it for about 7-8 years. Cymbalta for the depression and Adderall for my undiagnosed ADD. Doc said ADD in adults that was not diagnosed at an early age can cause major anxiety and depression which leads to abusing booze or weed. I abused both at different times in my life.

Don't let it get you. Get it first. If it wins, everyone around you loses. If you win, you and everyone around you benefits.

Theoretically, I SHOULD be happy. I have a great wife, awesome kids that love me, a thriving business that provides a comfortable life for my family, good health, a really awesome group of IRL friends, etc etc. Still, other than seeing my kids having a good time, nothing, and I mean nothing, makes me happy.

Sounds like you need some perspective to make you appreciate what you have. Go visit a 3rd world country, volunteer in a soup kitchen, or some other activity that gets you out of your comfort zone to make you realize how much better your life is than nearly all other humans on this planet.

Or go pay someone to listen to you bitch about yourself and prescribe a bunch of pharmaceuticals. Your choice

I know you feel like you know what you are talking about, but you absolutely do not. Maybe try and not be so judgemental and condescending.

What minds of diet changes did you make? Low carb, high fat? KETO? Paleo? Mediterranean? Vegan? Just cut back on fast food?
