I can see why so many of those dudes are divorced.

Your friend can hire movers by the hour to come box up and load a truck.

I have a hard time believe no movers are available on a months notice. I call absolute bull shite on that.
More like a couple of weeks.
I think he was so happy to get a full price cash offer that he caved and gave them whatever they wanted.
Then when he started calling movers was like "Oh, sheet".
If he can't find a mover then he can renegotiate occupancy date.
That's between him and the buyer, not my problem.
My knee jerk reaction was to help him move, that it's just a stupid party, and that she is just being a bitch about it.
She texted me a little bit ago saying that the reason she was upset is because there are going to be friends/family that I haven't met that she wanted to introduce me to.
So now I kind of get why it is a big deal to her.
My friend should have stipulated occupancy date dependent on his ability to find a mover, instead of caving and agreeing to whatever they wanted.
Not my problem, I'll help as much as I can and then go to party.

buyers get occupancy 7 days after closing.
Wow. Sounds stressful….
Every property I’ve sold the buyer takes occupancy the second they sign…

I was supposed to attend her sisters birthday party in a few weeks.
Girl code: If you choose a friend over her family. You are always in the wrong.
Keep your chin up young blood. You’ll make plenty of mistakes along the way. Apologize and tell the friend to hire a moving service, or another friend.

I told her that he has helped me move before, and I'm going to help him , period.
That should be the end of it.

I wouldn’t take any advice of any kind from anyone who says there is more than 2 genders. Those people are not to be taken seriously.

There is lots of poor advice in this thread.
#1 OP made a commitment to his gf to attend a scheduled event.
#2 The “lifelong friend” created his own situation by hastily agreeing to a short time period to move - that does not constitute an emergency.
#3 How good a friend is the guy if he knows that going back on his word
To attend the party will cause the OP grief, and doesn’t just say “don’t worry about it, I understand”.
I’ll also point out that the friend has seven days to move. What’s the timeframe on the party? Is it a day long / evening long affair? So get the ball rolling on the move now. Take a day off work during the week.

A lifelong friend just accepted an offer on his house that stipulates that the buyers get occupancy 7 days after closing.
This means that my friend has to move out the same weekend as her sisters party.
Pics of her sister?
Tell you friend to hire a mover with the cash from closing, once you are out of college you do adult things.
If worse comes to worse, bang your girlfriend's sister and let your girlfriend bang your friend as payment for you not helping move.

Ok, now I want this story
There really is no story. I knew from the first time I saw my wife that I was going marry her, don't know why but I just knew.
Anyways we start dating in high school then breakup for a bit and get back together. By this time we were both involved in the Greek system. I'm doing exactly what every other frat guy is doing during sority pledge week. When I get a text from my wife who is in charge of helping setup for pledges. Somehow she forgot to grab bread and the girls were about to start showing up so she asked me to run and grab chi o some bread and I respectfully declined. She got mad and yelled at me and I was drinking so I broke up with her and told her I wasn't getting the bread and I did not.

After giving it some thought this is exactly where I am.

Girlfriend…dump her and find a new one. She will continue to get pissed at you about shite for the rest of your life.

Depends on how much you value the puss with your girlfriend. If you value that enough then read next sentence. Your friend needs to hire a moving company if it’s going to cost you a relationship.

Unless you’re in college not hiring movers is extremely trashy
