Beef with girlfriend. Curious to hear from both genders about who's right/wrong.

Or 87 genders, or how ever many we're up to now.

I was supposed to attend her sisters birthday party in a few weeks.
A lifelong friend just accepted an offer on his house that stipulates that the buyers get occupancy 7 days after closing.
This means that my friend has to move out the same weekend as her sisters party.
I told her that I can't make the party because I'm going to help him move.
She blew a gasket.
I told her that he has helped me move before, and I'm going to help him , period.
I told her that I could understand if her mother was dying in the hospital with 72 hours to live, and she wanted me there by her side when it happened etc.
But it's just a birthday party.

She's still pissed.

I don't know if she is just shite testing me, trying to prove she can control me, or what.
But I'm about to show her the door if she doesn't let it go.

UPDATE/EDIT:

I am a little pissed at my friend about one thing.
He should've stipulated that the move out date was contingent on being able to book a mover.
I think he was so geeked about getting a full price cash offer that he was willing to agree to anything.

Damn, now y'all have me thinking I should just go to the party !

I side with her. You made plans with her first. You’re dumping her for your best friend. At least, that’s how she sees it.

Adult females that think their birthday is the highest priority is a current cancer to society. Go help your friend move

24.

Her sister is turning 21, so I guess that's supposed to make it a big deal.

How poor is your friend to bother all of his buddies vs just hiring movers.

Also, if he has 7 days to move, and last I checked a birthday is just one day…why can’t you do both?

If you bitch out on a friend you've had for life for your bitch arse girlfriend, just give her your cock and balls in a glass jar now because they ain't yours no more.

This is one of those early tone setters..not gonna lie. Married 17yrs a d counting

Eta: her doing this has about 10% to do with you not coming and 90% on whose running shite. If you know, you know.

He doesn't have time to line up movers.
He's called movers and none available.
He just agreed to contract, cash buyers, they want to close asap and occupancy in 7 days.

Bros before hoes!

This one is easy and her reaction should have you rethinking if she's the one.

Can you not do both? Are they in different cities? Can you not help and carve out a few hours from helping move to attend the party?

It's in a few weeks. Can you not help your friend get things together before the day of the party so you've helped but can also attend your prior obligation?
