Didn’t read
You’re a “man”
You know you’re logically “right”
She’s a vagina person

The fact that you’re coming here for validation proves that you’ve already lost
Ditch her
Work out
Eat right
Sleep well
You’ll do better

A pissed off girlfriend alone and drunk for a 21 year old’s party spells trouble, amigo.

You may not have a gf if you don’t go

Chip in for your friend to get movers if you feel obligated. Blowing off a party you’ve committed to help someone move is lame.

Unless you and your ole buddy are closer than you’re letting on, his move ain’t your obligation.

Damn, now y'all have me thinking I should just go to the party !

What we're telling you is this:
quote:

You know how moving is, I have no idea how many trips it will take, exactly how long it will take.

Isn't sufficient justification to blow off the party entirely. Dude's got an entire weekend to move. If two or three hours for you to get cleaned up, get some face time at the party, and get back to work makes or breaks the move, your friend needs to take an extra day off of work, because the weekend time frame is too tight.

I was going to show her results of this thread to show how ridiculous she's being, but damn, she's getting too much support.

I don't think she is aware that this site exists.

If she does, whatever.

Has anyone said to go to the party and bang the sister, yet? If not, do that. Problem solved.

The fact that you’ve met her family indicates that she is seriously thinking long-term about your relationship. You putting your friend, no matter how close or good of a friend he is, ahead of her family will give her pause, and cause her to reevaluate her future with you. Proceed with your current plan only if you don’t care about being dumped.

I like the way you think.
Her boyfriend might have a problem with it.

Her sister is turning 21, so I guess that's supposed to make it a big deal.

Girlfriend is 24. Sister is turning 21. I assume you’re mid-20’s.

I’d be tempted to go just for the scenery of a bunch of 21 year olds celebrating a birthday, and the interest you will receive from being the serious boyfriend of the older sister, plus you make the girlfriend happy. There’s no downside.

However, a lifelong friend owns his own house. He’s in a bit of a jam time wise with selling it, and needs your help. That should take priority.

I would normally side with the friend, but the transition into adulthood requires abandoning old habits. If he has the means to own and sell a home, then that is his responsibility. He can’t expect his old friends to waste a weekend helping him.

Attend the birthday party because you committed to that first, and it sounds a lot more fun than moving. I suggest your friend hire movers, and you offer to pitch in to help cover the cost since you can’t be there to help him.

I think you should stay home by yourself, smoking marijuana and masturbating the whole time. Stock up on chips and those frozen section BBQ rib tv dinner family size meals to make homemade McRibs.

That's the best I can do for you

When's the last time you were around of a bunch of 20 year olds?

I've had to miss nephew's dad funeral, and two uncles funerals because if I missed work, bills don't get paid and I'm out on the street. Starving > funeral. That tells you what I think about your low value gf throwing a millennial temper tantrum over a bday party. Besides, once women hit 30, they celebrate being 30 years old every year after that.

He either A. Doesn’t have to know. B. Finds out and once again, problem solved. Banned from the family.

Y'all are starting to sway me a little.

I guess my knee jerk reaction is to always be there if friends/family are in a bind and need me.

I'm starting to lean more towards "Dude, you should have thought about mover before you signed the contract agreeing to anything".
