If you do lots of pushups at 190 and try to do explosive pushups (trying to get hands off the ground) you can probably do much more than 175

I weigh 220. I normally do a standard set in the gym of three ascends.

12 @ 185
10 @ 205
8 @ 225

I typically weigh between 180-185 lbs

I rep 185 incline bench. I usually lift by myself and don't have a spotter. Haven't tried to 1-rep max since I was in school.

I weigh 155 pounds. Haven't lifted in years but I could do 205 back in the day. Would probably struggle to do my body weight right now.

Is this just a 1 rep max?

I’m 165-168 depending on the week and do 205 8-10x. If I want to go a bit heavier I’ll do 215 5x. Anytime I move heavier I tend to start getting nagging injuries. I’m also pushing 40 and have been doing this for over 20 years now consistently, so not trying to bench press a Buick at this point.

easily my worst lift

Haven’t one rep maxed in years, especially with a straight bar.

What 220 pound person can only lift 140,v

But seriously, I have seen quite a few adult males in their 30s that would fit that category. I remember getting a friend back in the gym (he was about 5'8", 250-275 at the time) that struggled with 95 lbs. He hadn't done anything remotely close to working out since his HS glory days.

*198-pound body weight: 135 pounds (untrained); 175 pounds (novice); 215 pounds (intermediate)
I'd be in the untrained category. May be able to get in the novice level, but haven't lifted in a few years.

Are you just one of those slim dudes who can throw up a bunch of weight? You weigh like 170 right?

I did 225 x 12 a couple of months ago before I turned 52. Weight was around 215 then. I don’t care about maxing out because in doing so I’d probably rip my shoulder up.

I got put on Humira for GI issues a little over two years ago. After being on it a while I noticed that my joints didn’t hurt like they used to, so I was able to train harder and more often.

I'm either above intermediate or would be so within a week of getting back into it.

I fluctuate between 180-185 (at 6'2") right now because I lift a lot more these days

I'm stronger now at 36 than I have ever been

I held a raw collegiate powerlifting BP record for a while. I'm at around 165 lbs now and can push close to 300. I don't work out seriously anymore, though.
