Germans are very smart and loyal dogs but so are pits. The two pits I grew up with were very smart and loyal and never showed an ounce of aggression. Its the owner, not the dog.

It’s actually both. If you have a shitty poodle owner, you have a shitty poodle dog, who may be a pain in the arse, may bite, may even draw some blood. Which is about what you’ll get with a shitty owner and the overwhelming majority of dogs.
A shitty owner with a pit has to be the most dangerous combination by far.

Imagine if this had been your daughter. The urge to do something to the dogs and owner...

Conclusions and Clinical Relevance—Most DBRFs were characterized by coincident, preventable factors; breed was not one of these. Study results supported previous recommendations for multifactorial approaches, instead of single-factor solutions such as breed-specific legislation, for dog bite prevention.
dude you must not be able to comprehend scientific studies lmao.
The conclusions your sources determined that dog breed-specific approaches are not recommended for fatality prevention, other breeds may bite and cause fatalities at higher rates. most dog bite related fatalities have preventable factors but breed isnt one of them, You linked 3 articles supporting the fact that specific breed bans are impractical.

Without a semiautomatic with a bunch of rounds, there's not much you can do against 5 dogs.

dad was brindle, and weighed about 90.
well this gives a clue that dad dog wasnt a pitty. That is like 40% heavier than the heavy end of male pit bull weight range. And you said mom dog was 65-70? that is still about 33% heavier than a female pit bull weight range. With your information that both parents and pup being significantly heavier than normal pit bull weight range, I would call your pup a mutt or something else. Definitely not pit bull over 110 lbs. Pit bulls just aren't that big.
but people like you that dont know what a pit bull is, probably got attacked and reported that it was a pit bull. Kinda proving my point that pit attacks are over-represented. Hell this was your dog, and you mistook it for a pit.

Ah, the PB owners get all riled up.
They're nuts where near the scale of loyalty or intelligence or a GSD

Sad. And another reason I carry.

I wouldn’t own a pit now, feel free to read my previous posts. Everyone has an opinion, and I disagree with yours. I have owned both, and several more dog breeds, and while there are plenty of legitimate knocks on pit bulls, loyalty and intelligence simply aren’t among them.

You seem really caught up on this. I don’t know what he was, but I can tell you this, I had two different breeders , that’s American Pit Bull Terrier breeders, contact me about breeding him, because of who his parents were.

Well shite I’m disappointed but not surprised that the guy demanding peer-reviewed studies finally gets one and then disappears.

What are the dogs that keep getting confused for pits?
So I can throw those into the pile of dogs I’d like to see eradicated.

Sounds like any pit that weighs more than he says it can weigh, isn’t really a pit.

you are an a-hole. probably a democrat too, from the way you project the statistics concerning pit bulls as "breedist". you are an a-hole

I just need to know what to call the things.
I don’t even care to waste my time arguing about weights.
Just tell me what this guy calls those heavier things so I can lump them in with his 60 pound verity.
