It might be due to the new FEMA 2.0 flood insurance rates… thoughts?? Owners have to pass those on to renters.

I’m sure but dang, just checked again. $6400 to 10,700. That’s wild. Cleaning fee up $150 in that to $675 total.

I know 2 separate groups/families heading to Isla Mujeres in June and both are saving thousands of dollars.

I went down to Georgetown, Exuma about 4 years ago, rented a house and a Boston Whaler for the week. We had an awesome time. The sandbars and reefs make Crab Island look like a ghetto and the entire trip was cheaper than taking the family down to 30A. But don't get me wrong, I still enjoy 30A. In fact I just got back from Rosemary. LOL.

How much did that set you back? Rosemary is crazy nice. I'm on 30A but a solid 20 mins to Rosemary by car.

The place we usually get in Seaside has gone from $3900 for the week in 2019 to over $8k this summer. Not on the water. Add to this the ridiculous rules the 30a beaches have added regarding banning canopies and forcing people to use the stupid price gouging chair companies, and we’ve decided to go elsewhere. May even skip the beach and rent a houseboat on a local lake. 30a is beautiful but just isn’t worth it at these prices. Last year was our tipping point.

30a has changed from a great quiet place to take multi-generational family groups to a wannabe French Riviera where the 200thousandaires in the Southeast go to be seen and pretend they’re millionaires for a week.

I can get a place in Turks and Caicos for a week for that. Think I will pass.

Good news is they're renovating Ricky's Motel, they'll be plenty of places for people to stay...

Just like everything else, if people would collectively refuse to pay those prices, they will come down. They have to. Same goes for people agreeing to pay over msrp for vehicles. It's simple economics.

Please study economics. See the topic “invisible hand” of the free market. Ain’t anybody collectively doing shite. The price will be what the market tolerates… no more, no less.

Looks to be going up about 11.4% where we go. Forgotten Coast of FLorida (Big Bend area). St. George Island. Generally a little cheaper than most places but It's been creeping up.

There were some good buys available after hurricane Michael that have tripled in value

I'm good. Common sense tells me if something costs "x" and nobody buys it, the price will go down or remain unsold.

There's something we can agree on.
