How much does that week to Gulf Shores set you back? 6k these days?

The beach and the boat ramp. Where the trashiest of the trashy show their lack of understanding or caring about social norms.

They're not blocking the ramp but they are blocking nearly every direct path to the beach and causing everyone to go around them. I'm having to haul a bunch of shite through the sand and extra 100 feet each way because they had to put 4 tents suse by side. It's definitely inconvenient for everyone
I could definitely see myself coming unglued if I had to walk around their tents in the afternoon when the sand is hotter than the surface of the sun.

Lord I don't miss going to those crowded arse beaches. Glad where we go now is too far out of the way for lifted F150s.
Spot on. Where we go I might see 20 people the entire day. No condos, and prices keep the riff raff out.

And I'm having to work today in Louisiana. Would gladly trade that for walking an extra 200 feet
Good point

What's the problem,, their tents are in the designated area...
I think we found the beach Karen..

How trashy is it to do this?
What are the odds that they’re the same people who reserved the spot by the water with 7 seats?

why worry about it? You're on vacation. Their trashiness is a minor inconvenience to you at its worst.

This hurts you how exactly?

Wow, didnt know beach etiquette was so volatile.
I don't hang out on the beach. We always rent homes at the beach with pools and hang there. May do the beach for an hour or so, and I usually just walk the beach.
Also, we always rent homes in Duck, NC on the Outer Banks. Little exclusive and separate from the normal beach people.

I’m so glad I’m not forced to meet my family in the 30A anymore. Such a Mecca of trash.
I don't think this kind of thing is allowed on beaches in 30A, unless it's on one of the public beaches. I've never seen tents on the beach in Seaside or Rosemary Beach. You know that shite won't be happening in Alys Beach.

The resort my family stays at in Destin only allows tents behind the line of umbrellas. As long as they don't encroach on my space, I don't care.

it may be trashy but their placement is proper beach etiquette
Posted on 6/12/24 at 9:29 am to MRTigerFan
Could you please take the picture of our tents down. I f not we can meet in front of my gray one. That's the one in between the two red ones which are in front of the blue one . Thanks

It doesn't hurt me at all unless you count the extra steps through scalding hot sand in the afternoon.
It does inconvenience me and everyone else by blocking every direct path to the beach. It's very inconsiderate to inconvenience everyone else so you can have a 4 wide tent city. How hard would it be to leave a walking path through there? The fact that some of you can't comprehend how inconsiderate this is blows my mind.

I won't say trashy but definitely a little unaware. At least they had the self awareness and effort to setup back far enough.
Is that Gulf Shores Plantation? Beach Club?
I
every time I see those stupid Shibumi things. They take up twice to room as a 10x10 tent and do an awesome job of providing shade for the people next to you.
A simple beach umbrella in an anchor buried in the sand is undefeated but holy crap the marketing from social media is unstoppable

The built their Waco compound in the back, so that's actually kind of considerate.

They are not fully blocking everyone's path to the beach. Just a straight line path. But in reality, unless you have rented one of the hand full of umbrellas between the white equipment boxes guarding their tent city, it's likely not forcing you to make a significant detour. If my rented umbrella is on the outer edges of the two rows I'm probably not walking through the boxes anyway.
At least they are in the back and out of the way. IMO, the bigger annoyance is the people who have set up their own umbrellas at the edge of the break line. Which often times include at least one 200lb woman in a way-too-small bikini. They're restricting the view of the people who paid money to rent the resort chairs. The tent city crew isn't.
