They should move BCS to the LSU west hayfield lots (east of the Miss. River levee). Think about it:
1. It's in the same general location as Tiger Stadium, so the organizers don't have to work with different venue management. In addition, the city around could have enough hotels and what not nearby to accommodate all visitors.
2. The space is huge and could reasonably accommodate a full TS lower bowl crowd or close to it.
3. Noise ordinances wouldn't be a problem with no housing nearby.
4. This could give BCS a State Fair vibe to it. You could put rides and carnival booths near the concert ground area to make in more engaging for families that attend.
5. If there is enough room, make it a tailgating enviroment with letting folks brinv camping chairs for viewing the concert with beer booths scattered throughout the field.

Seems like a smart move but does LFT have enough hotel rooms to accommodate 50K people (and yes, I know people can drive to/from BTR or Lake Chuck)? Just curious about available hotel rooms in LFT.

Festivals Acadiens says that they draw 100,000. Even if they're doubling their actual attendance that's still within reason for BCS.

It does have less rooms than metro BR, but I think it would have enough with surrounding communities like Breaux Bridge and Broussard.

I don't see how that could work. That arena only has seating for 6500 people. It could maybe another 6k on the arena floor. The low ceiling would sound like shite for acoustics.

Can you imagine 5pm when the plants in St. Gabriel all let out in addition to BCS traffic?

Not to mention the expansions currently going on at Shell and Oxy plus BASF traffic.

traffic would be a nightmare

It would be a boon for the Cajundome for sure. As it stands now, the artists contracts with BCS state they can't book a show within X number of miles of the BCS, which eliminates Lafayette as a venue for those bands.

It's an unnecessary non-compete clause of sorts to protect the profitability of BCS, which I don't think would suffer at all if those bands could book Laffy and BCS.

This like saying LSUFanHouston confirms that I am ready and willing to host Beyonce for a private dinner at my house.

If the event needs to move from TS, I don't know where else it could be in Baton Rouge. Just come down to NOLA and put it at the Festival Grounds at City Park, same place Voodoo is held.

If it really does move from TS. I'll miss the people watching the most. Some interesting characters come out of the woodwork for BCSF.

A lot of hot women come out as well. Seriously, the 3 nights of BCSF are probably 3 of the top 5 days in the city for seeing hot women in their 20's out and about. St. Paddy's Day Parade is still the GOAT.

They were threatening to move to Houston a few years ago to blackmail the city to keep paying them to stay here.

Ascension Parish Govt confirms they are ready & able to host Bayou Country SF @ Lamar Dixon Expo Ctr.

We really have some huge fricking morons running this parish then if they think we have the infrastructure to handle the traffic and Lamar Dixon can handle the parking. No doubt Matassa is getting some kickbacks from this.

With it moving to Lamar Dixon, it tells me that Scott Innes has a hand in this. If he has any hand in this festival at all, it will go down the shitter at an incredible rate.

Every concert he puts on is nothing but washed up country artists who are way passed their prime.

Bar Refaeli is ready and capable of holding me too inside, but me and Ascension parish have about equal odds.

It's funny because it's true.

Festival International seems to draw even more and they seem to handle that just fine.

This is a fact. People around Gonzales are pissed off because it's the same weekend as the Jambalaya Festival and beside the horrible traffic problems it would cause, They require a 2 year contract and that will kill the Jambalaya Festival for 2 years.

EBR will probably pay to put it in Gonzales if Tiger Stadium is a no-go. That keeps most of the hotel and restaurant money in Baton Rouge. The other option would be put it in the River Center and have a Bayou Country Fest instead of a Superfest.

AP leadership gives no fricks about traffic and all fricks about kickback and revenue.

Not if they combine the two. Just move the Jambalaya Fest to Lamar at the same time. The Jambalaya Fest sets up outside and is free, just like BCSF has all of the free bands outside the stadium during the day. They can have their rides and their cooking area as well. The paying BCSF people can go into the pay area for the big name acts, just like they do now. It wouldn't be ideal, but it could certainly be done. It would just piss off the old timers who are regulars at Jambalaya Fest like Van Broussard, Kenny Fife, Kenny Cornet, Bag O Donuts, and the Chee Wees, but who cares about them?
