It is not remotely close honestly.

Very sleepy little town, lots of retirees
Demographics similar to Mandeville
Beach
Fishing
Quality food
Republican governor
Can be to Nola in 60 minutes
BR less than two hours
I see no reason to contribute to Turtle face’s salary

ETA: Didn’t see a single mask this past weekend

Considering it for retirement. Mississippi is better financially for retirement than Louisiana.

If I’m going to take the risk to live on the coast it’s going to be nicer than Bay St Louis

What? It's not even the best place to live on the MS Gulf Coast.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

At least grand isle has decent sized waves and deep water fishing.

Bay St. Louis looks like someone dumped sand along the shore and said we will call it a beach and sell multiple million dollar mansions on the other side of the road. Then we build 2 casinos and now a 3rd to bring in more tourists.

It’s close enough to Slidell that it’s home but got the beach too. Wish I was still there

These “Louisiana is a horrible place to live” threads are exhausting.

I love how your trying to bash Louisiana, but part of your argument as to what makes it good is how quick you can get to Louisiana.

So you drive down I-10, get off somewhere between exits 20-28, drive south, find a house for a fraction of the cost close to a nicer beach, with more things to do, and you're closer to the real beach on ship island.
