I mean if you asked any other business to do this you would be laughed at. For sone reason people feel very entitled to Internet

And what if you only have a few choices and they all dick you over?
We ain't exactly dealing with a free market here.

Why are you laughing? Do you the costs to implement the infrastructure and then subsequently run the servers and complete maintenance to run an isp? Do you know the appropriate price to recoup said investment?Don't give me prices of Estonia that is completely different then the US.
I can go into any mall in the country right now and can walk past 30 stores with signs buy one and get second half off or similar offers. If I asked for the price of one as being 50% off then they would say no. Yet people don't get bundling for cable and internet? Either they are dumbasses or entitled.

So $20 internet with cable as opposed to $70 internet alone is half off? They are marking the price up x’s 3 and a half.

Next time you see an ad for a tire sale: Buy 3, get the 4th free. Go in and ask if you can just get the one tire, ya know the 'free' one?
Let me know how it goes

There's a group of people out there with the same complaints everyone else has about Comcast and the others. The difference between those people and the rest of us is that those people have hundreds of millions they can pony up quickly.
Someone is going to come along and provide great service for about $50 / month and all the other providers will get in line.
The market is ripe for the entrance of a disruptor to come in and take over.
I think it'll happen within 6 months.

I am paying them 300 bucks plus a month now

If people can stand to take a little pain by ditching internet providers that try to screw them over then net neutrality will become the defacto standard. A few million people canceling Comcast will get their attention pretty quick.

How are they going to get past all the local red tape? 6 months
You need to look up the pains Google had trying to enter markets.

So they will do what they did pre-2015? Nothing more than being the shite company they have always been?????

Nah I won’t let you know how it goes. We all know how that would go, Genius, and that’s not at all what I’m saying. You’re putting your own spin on it and talking about the same product, tires. What I’m saying is you have to get overpriced, shitty cable tv that most don’t watch to get a decent price for internet. If you don’t want shitty, overpriced cable, pay 3.5 x’s more for internet.

is cable access the only broadband choice you have where you live?
Posted on 12/15/17 at 7:17 pm to Green Chili Tiger
Pretty sure that was proven to have been changed well before December 15th.
This is a typical fear mongering meme going around the internet.

They are welcome to run their service (and their company) any way they choose...the minute I become dissatisfied with it, I can pick up the phone and call any of a half dozen or so of their competitors who offer the same service...

I love how the net neutrality people bitch about broadband availability, then want to make the broadband suppliers into public utilities.
I can't think of a single public utility company that works right.

It isn't going to happen at the local government level, which is what creates the monopoly issue and lack of competition

Well, those broadband suppliers worked with governments to become total providers.
