I'm not familiar with boat financing. What are generally the requirements, rates and loan terms?
How much are these baws putting up on something that will really sink your wallet?
I ask, because some of these boats are in the several hundred thousand dollar range.

The clientele at Prop Stop may not be to the liking of the crowd on this site but very dam few have ever put a foot on boats like these.
Does a yacht with a helicopter landing pad count as a boat “like these”?
And it’s “damn” not dam, beavers or engineers are concerned with dams.

You can finance a boat that expensive for at least 20 years.

Are y'all really that broke that you would finance a boat? Not ballers!

Affording the boat is only the first step...I couldn’t even afford the insurance payment and fuel bills on some of these rigs. Not to mention repairing them when something breaks, and with that HP something will break eventually.
I’ve heard of guys keeping spare motors and out drives, some keep mechanics with them on the road, they pay people to haul their boats to the events and then fly in themselves.
It’s crazy to think how much money some of those guys sink into that hobby, I wish I had 1/4 of it!

You should go out to the where they cross Lake Maurepas. Just sit in a boat and watch those big dogs going by.
Anchor out between the north sandbar and the mouth of Tickfaw.

Sunset cove on Lanier every weekend after June 1st
that's not even a busy weekend. We definitely stay out of the water on poker run weekend on Lanier. Sunset cove was cool when it first opened, then multiplied to this. I will admit, I'd rather have them in Sunset than the old Cocktail Cove in the middle of the lake. At least in Sunset they all go the back way under the lanier islands bridge

Do they do this shite in the north? I know a lot of people in the North and Midwest have lake houses and cottages in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
Do they trash it up and bring all of these toothless hicks and their speed boats? I was always under the impression that it was nicer homes, nicer lakes, and a little more relaxed.

Friend from college (50 yr old) is right in the middle of this every year. No telling how much money he spends to just ride around, drink, and haul trim.

The Tickfaw 200 was started in 1996, and ever since, it has brought out a crowd of enthusiastic people ready to party on the river. Boaters make stops at eight different businesses where participants get stamps. They get a playing card for each stop. The best hand at the end of the run wins a big jackpot of $2,000 "All these guys, they spend a lot of money and a lot of time getting their boats ready," Chuck Stark said. "It's really the big, big show for the beginning of the Poker Run season, and these guys come out here to have a good time."
2 questions
1. Is there really a Poker Run season
2. grand prize of $2000 doesnt seem like much when people are ridin in $200,000 boats
