Baton Rouge Traffic Engineers hard at work

I just noticed the shite-pot full of NO TURN ON RED all over Sherwood Forest Dr. I guess the signs were on sale. Bike lane in between lanes on Harrells ferry at Sherwood is another example of Urban planning B.S.
This is the exact type of crap EBR is famous for doing in the dark of night.

Why not turn right on red? You’re right. It’s BS.

Has probably been advertised and talked about for months.
No one cares until it happens then they bitch.

Well you could just take a right on red anyway. No cops will stop you.

Check for red light cameras. BR loves to put up a single "No turn on Red" sign and then plant a traffic cam for illegal turn tickets.
There used to be one at Sherwood and Coursey that absolutely racked up the daily revenue.

I failed to find ANY information.
Perhaps you can direct me to the fine print I’ve missed.

Yep when everyone is dismantling and abandoning those traffic items, we are embracing them.

Morning traffic HF and SWF is horrendous. What a shite part of town.

How else will the bums and meth heads get from their camps to the panhandling spots safely?

Speaking of bad traffic engineering... Who has set the timing for the light on Jefferson at Towne Center?
It is timed to turn red just as traffic approaches heading north and does a full cycle of turn signals when no one is there. Total garbage.

Yep.
Zero bike lane traffic causing even more shitty traffic in BR.
Every light turning onto S. Harrells Ferry has no turn on red now because of that BS.

We live off South Harrells Ferry. I think I've seen 2 bikes using those lanes in the year or so they've been there. Money well spent

All they did on Harrell's Ferry road with the bike lanes is made the current vehicle lanes a little narrower to accommodate for new bike lanes. However, I guess that's about all they could do.

In about five years we will have the lights that are set with sensors so at 10:00 pm they don’t stay red when no one is around. Wait didn’t they spend millions to do that several years ago or did it go somewhere else?

I noticed that recently as well.
My favorite is the absolutely and completely unneeded new traffic light at Burbank and that subdivision a few hundred yards west from Traction. It's the dumbest fricking light in existence now. I drive that way every morning and most afternoons and for the first two weeks after it was turned on, I literally did not hit it green once. Not a single time. Didn't matter if there was anybody waiting at the light to turn out of the neighborhood or now, it was just turning red for nothing.
And what's even more stupid is it gives the turn arrows (left turn heading east, and u-turn heading west) regardless of if there is anybody waiting as well. God forbid we actually put a smart light there that changes when actually needed by traffic.
And what's even more stupid than even that is that most of the time it will turn red for me (heading west) in the mornings to give the oncoming u-turn a green (when there is nobody there waiting for it), and then give me the green again.....all while there is a car waiting to come out of the neighborhood that never got his green. So what is seemingly the reason for the light in the first place (allowing traffic from that subdivision to safely turn left onto Burbank) is being skipped anyway.
I get irrationally mad at that light almost every single day. It's beyond fricking stupid, and I may just start running it in the mornings when I get a red light and I'm the only car that I can see on any of the roads. It's infuriating.
