I knew going into election season that there would be some kind of media frenzy that can be turned into a race wedge issue for the governing party sometime in the spring/summer of 2016. It has been happening prior to every election for almost 10 years. It could be anywhere, but I was really hoping that it wouldn't be in any place I cared about.

Other than having a bunch of jackasses from out of town converge on Baton Rouge and Dallas to orchestrate terrorist shootings, the worst part about this is that it put an end to the era of black democrats in the mold of Kip Holden (who was probably the biggest cheer leader for Baton Rouge in history). Now the local Democrat platform is almost entirely based on race baiting and fear mongering in the black community.

I was actually very proud of Baton Rouge and Louisiana that commerce was mostly uninterrupted by the protests. No freeways were shut down and no neighborhoods were burned down. I'm not sure if the area can handle another issue like that again especially if local race baiters and fear mongering assholes get their way.

Between the terrorist shooting targeting police, the protests, the Sterling shooting, the damn flood, and Les Miles getting fired....Baton Rouge really deserves better than the divisive rhetoric spewed by wannabe politicians and exploitative personalities on social media. I don't live there anymore but I'm rooting for the area.

Since when did plantations become death camps? Does she really believe that a business like a plantation would just kill off assets for fun. I'd like to see the numbers on slaves punished or executed vs. today's rates of incarceration or death penalty receivers. The executions are probably down due to legal costs but in any society there will be troublemakers. Literally
