Metro Baton Rouge will have more people living off of the government than not by the time I die. IF changes aren't made soon, it will be too late to fix it.

It’s already too late to fix it. The crime , the traffic, the public school system, lack of growing industries.

Of the best, I wouldn't move to Seattle, SF or DC.

Seattle’s downtown is much better now than it was two years ago. 1 in 14 Seattle residents is a millionaire. Salaries are also high. Seattle has crime, but the rate of violent crime, especially gun violence, is way lower than most cities. Same with San Francisco. Homelessness is concentrated- not city-wide.

Genuinely curious why you think that.

Crime rates are abhorrent and the murder rates are in the top 5 nationally. Less homeless people than Seattle but way more dangerous. The downtown area is basically situated in the middle of the hood. Almost half of the population lives off government assistance/welfare/Medicaid

I agree, blacks are the biggest difference between Seattle and Baton Rouge.

I don't think you could be more biased. Sure bigger cities might be able to provide more BUT cost of living can be a witch in certain states

Boise is an awesome place to live if you have an established career or wealth.

I graduated BSU and my first accounting job was $45k and I was fighting a few other candidates for it.

I think big 4 there started a little over $50k in 2022.

Boise's economy is growing for sure, but it's maybe its biggest weak spot. A lot of small startups come out of Boise and then usually get gobbled up by bigger companies that are HQd elsewhere.

Your main players (not healthcare) are

Boise Cascade
Micron
Albertsons
HP
Winco

Not a bad list, but considering Boise's isolation (closest big metro is SLC 5 hours away), that list needs to be bigger and more robust for it to be a driving force for new grads.

I'm a big Boise sunshine pumper, but its spot on this list does not surprise me.

I feel like the people that put these lists together just call all the cities and shake them down for high ranks. San Fran being top 5 for a college grad is insane. Boise being bottom 10 is insaner.

Again, it’s pretty accurate.
