But then I'd have to say I was from LP. Just can't stomach that.
As opposed to BR?

Hurts to pay a couple thousand a year in taxes for shitty public schools I dont use
Hell, we have kids and pay for schools that we refuse to use.

I live in LP and this year I have to pay 1800 dollars. I live in Denham Springs.

TX property taxes say hold my beer!
Is that to make up for the lack of state of income tax?

Cats is the only one that erks me. I don't use the schools or the library but the bus tax just seems out of place.

TX arguably uses their taxes properly despite them being so high.

Probably will Paul. I won't send my daughter to Tara. Kind of sad because that was a good school once upon a time.

Why the hell are we paying hundreds of dollars each year for CATS and a library?
Because not enough homeowners show up to vote in spring elections when they sneak in all the millage renewals and increases.

Add BREC to your list.
Oh look, it's the ignorant "I want to live in a real shithole" crowd.

All the CATS bus stops near me are severely underutilized.
Year round.
Baton Rouge problems are never going to get fixed unless someone can be honest about what they are.

CATS does much more harm than good.
A bus carrying 2 people ties up a lane of traffic on busy avenues. And the bus stops attract some trashy looking hoodlums.
I dont want to pay for other people's transportation. Especially when I'm probably paying for their housing, food, and children already.

Why does my bill always go UP? They think my house is made of gold, I would like to put a clause in the law that if they assess your house for a certain amount of money that they agree to purchase a house for that price. I'd sell in a second.

Just got mine too and I was thinking the same thing.

Thank you for doing your part in their wealth redistribution scheme. They can spend it better than you can.

I agree - I grew up using public transportation- but cats is just not usable for me, and I live close enough to a route!
We don’t use the schools - but I see the point of the tax bc that’s how they get their funding (how they use it needs to be evaluated)
The library is actually the only thing I use. And they should give their employees a raise with all the funding they get but they can’t
And BREC - lol - I like all the little playgrounds every where but it would be nice if they treated them the same

At least the library has better service and services.
The new Goodwood one still has computer books on the shelf that I donated over 25 years ago, probably not many looking to check out a windows 3.1 users guide.
