I got to experience it before it closed down as a kid in the mid 90s and got some cool action figures that I thought were better than what Walmart had at that time.

Real Super Store, was a spinoff of National Food Store.

Same here. I would sometimes get my dad to stop there just to see the store. We would stop at the one in Harvey when we would go to Venice.

Here is what it looked like before it was cut into a Conn's and a Hobby Lobby in 2011 thanks to Google Street View.

I remember shopping there with my grandmother as kid in the early 90s. I thought their buggies were so cool.

I remember going to the one in Lafayette as a kid and scouting the parking lot before we went into the store hoping to find an abandoned buggy that I could return, collect the quarter, and get myself something out of the little $.25 vending machines

We shopped there a lot when I was growing up. We didn't have many options in Central back then. Funny thing is that it's been closed for over 30 years and the front of the store still looks about the same

A great place to grocery shop. Underrated bakery too.

I grew up in Longwood Subdivision off Greenwell Springs, so we frequented the Super Store. Lots of great memories of shopping there with my mom and brothers. That bakery was great. I think it was called Ziggys. They used to have fresh baked, uncut loaves of sandwich bread that was really great. Also had a pretty decent video rental section.

Was a shame to see it go out of business.

It was a good bakery. My first job out of college was on Wooddale, and every birthday cake in the office came from TRS. I shopped there at lunch a lot. Even bought a couple of cute shirts as I recall.

Lived right across the street. I remember they used to have people on roller skates to check prices.
