I never pass through Dallas/Ft Worth without stopping at one of the few remaining locations.

It's just as good as you remember

I'll never forget, at the Florida Blvd location one day, probably summer of 87, sitting there scarfing down tacos and enchiladas, when the two fattest women I've ever seen, but at least 400 lbs each, and their almost equally as fat daughter sat down at the table next to us.

Yeah, they lost money that day lol

Bonus points if you are old enough to remember eating at the Nicholson location while attending LSU.

My uncle was the contractor that built Luther's. I worked for him the summer between my junior and senior year of high school. I had am mishap the first day on the job as a 16 year old with a 16lb sledgehammer would and ended up spending 4 days in the hospital with a smashed index finger. Still worked the summer running errands and such. I also learned there is no such thing as a "board stretcher" in the tool trailer

Also, Edwin Edwards' son was who we were building for and EWE would show up on friday's sometimes with an ice chest full of beer and shut us down to have a beer with the Governor

No one should ever wonder why EWE was so loved.
But at the same time, he probably boned your aunt.

Infusions restaurant at Evangeline Downs has a Monte Cristo sandwich on the menu. Couple of friends have tried and said it was pretty great.

I have alot of history at ole Bennigan's. My brother worked there while he was in college and I was in HS. He got me a job washing dishes there and after I got off at 2am on a school night I never went back. Nightmare job. Then my GF worked at the Bennigan's on Bluebonnet in college. She came home smelling like a monte cristo every night. Ill never forget that smell. But being 18-20 years old and having a friend that worked there was awesome. All day happy hour 2 for 1 draft and singles was awesome.

There was a McDonald’s Express in front of the mall. Only one I ever recall seeing. For whatever reason, they served chili dogs.

Also one on S Sherwood. Had good hot dogs too.

The old location at Plank & Airline next to the bowling alley was (IMHO) the best, way back in the day....

At LSU in the 70s, loved the Uncle Ben's Fried Chicken on Nicholson, and the Mickey's Golden Nugget that took its place there. Sure wish someone would use that old Uncle Ben's recipe on some modern day chicken...
