Any OTers have knowledge of the catholic elementary schools?
You need to check the CSAL basketball threads to find the best fit for your son. Personally I ride with St Aloysius

U Club could be a massive pain in the arse depending on which catholic elementary you can get your kid enrolled in. It isn’t centrally located for much of anything

Santa Maria is great. Lots of young families moving in and a good range of prices.

Upper end of your range might get you into Collegetown. Would be in the St. Al area. Cant go wrong there.

Looking for some of that valuable OT advice.

Family is relocating to BR and we are trying to narrow down where to look for a home

I just moved from Baton Rouge after living there for almost 30 months. Go ahead and start planning your relocation from Baton Rouge

Good suggestion. Tara is a legit nice neighborhood that's centrally located and near Our Lady of Mercy.

Pretty good advice here OP if you prefer being 5-10 minutes from everything and kind of in the center of the decent part of the city

Probably not comfortably unfortunately. What area would that bring into play?

Where are you going to work? BR traffic should be taken into account. General area at least would approve recommendations.

Look down Highland between Seigen and the Country Club of La. Several nice subdivisions but you’d be starting at 500k minimum. St George parish and school are solid.

BR is ghetto man. It's a top 10 crime city with bad public schools and a subpar white collar job market. It's not hard to figure out why it's not a desirable location for some people although many people do fine here and have a decent quality of life
