Baton Rouge needs to close some of the open ones now before opening a new course.
Looking your way BREC

Buddy works for Top Golf corporate.. Don't get your hopes up.

They'd put it somewhere trashy like off of Airline. I'd like one, but not if I have to drive 40 minutes through traffic to get there.

I would drive to BR or NO for it several times a year
Seriously. I assume you are coming from Thibodaux. I know my opinion is not everyone's, but I can't see driving 45+ minutes to play top golf. I've got one about 10 minutes from me and I don't think it's THAT big of a draw to make me go a few times a year when I live that close. I'm not trying to take away from how much SOME would use it, but I think I'm a pretty average guy with average hobbies. I just don't think this is an attraction like some of you think it is. It is about as interesting as going to a kick arse bowling alley.

Can you imagine how it would do during home games at LSU. Now figure out what to do the rest of the year and I think you got something.

How much are they charging at this place? You don't have to eat and drink there in order to hit a bucket of balls do you?
You may want to look up what Top Golf actually is. there are no "Buckets" of balls. You pay by the hour to rent a stall (between 35-55 an hr). There are various games you can play. During each players turn, they swipe their golf club over a sensor and it dispenses a ball. That ball is then tied to the player for scoring purposes.
Top Golf here would never work. The Top Golf in Atlanta is a hot spot but is sustained by their corporate customers. I just don't see that same type of support in Louisiana.

I think glorified bowling alley is the best way to put it. I'm an avid golfer but have only been to Top Golf twice in the 4 years I've lived close to one. That's not really what it's for.
It's basically fun with a big group of people to get together, but how often do people with money do that?
And how many people with money around Baton Rouge want to spend it there? You have to pull from a large demographic of professionals. It works well in Austin and Houston. BR??? I don't think plant workers and fast food employees are going to be on the list of people breaking down the doors to get in.

Baton Rouge can not currently support a Top Golf PERIOD.
All there is to it really.

That is false because Top Golf does NOT franchise. Every location is owned and operated 100% by Top Golf.
Not to mention that it takes something like $10-$15 million to build one.

In other news, a group of investors including St. Amant High School band directors, a former principal, an insurance salesman, and a coalition of operator baws are in talks to put a combined Dairy Queen/Chik-fil-a Hybrid of Doom in the empty lot across from St. Amant High School and the Pit Stop Gas Station. Droop could not be reached for comment.
