This guy was arrested 55 times but I'm sure he didn't do anything wrong. Just misunderstood and persecuted by the police. Interested to see how fat Gravy defends this fine citizen.
Guy Did Nothing Wrong 55 Times
A Baton Rouge man was arrested for the 55th time Monday, wanted by Baton Rouge Police on a count of attempted second-degree murder.
Kenneth Sheppard, 61, is accused of beating a man with a board of nails on March 3 in the 4500 block of Byron Street, causing the man to lose sight in one eye, according to the arrest report filed by BRPD on March 20.
The victim told police he thought the fight started because he didn't want to give Sheppard a piece of equipment that Sheppard wanted, the warrant says, but the man's memory was fuzzy.
A witness told police both men agreed to fight and during the altercation the victim was knocked to the ground and was unable to get up, the warrant says. Sheppard then picked up a board with nails sticking out of it, and hit the victim on the head with it multiple times, the warrant says.
Sheppard has been arrested 54 other times since 1973, the warrant says. He was convicted of felony theft in 1997 and of distribution of narcotics in 2000, according to East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court records.
Sheppard, 2747 Huron St., was booked Monday as a fugitive into Parish Prison.

I guess I'll be the one to ask the obvious question - how in the hell is this guy still on the street???

So does that make him a habitual offender?

That's less than once a year. Doesn't everybody have an arrest record?

Not going to lie, that's kinda impressive.

He can still turn his life around. The criminal justice system has failed this guy.

Obviously a lack of economic opportunity over the last 60 years. If the guy had been able to find a job he wouldn't have gotten arrested 55 times. Right, Gravy?

Baton Rouge has obviously failed this upstanding man. It's time to replace the police chief and begin community policing.

You'd figure with all that experience he would have succeeded.

That, my friends, is an example of a good human being.
