43 in Baton Rouge versus 38 in New Orleans. BR has 150k less people than Nola. If it wasn’t for Jackson, BR could be the murder capital this year.

Those are rookie numbers.

I can recall when tuning into the news there was a murder count nearly equal to the number of days in the year in New Orleans.

Higher. Over 400 during the crack wars of the early to mid 90s.

You left out the part where a bunch of national guard troops have been deployed in the city to deter crime.

Crazy how that works.

The news even kept track of it like a tote board.

Either way nearly everyone of the murderers should have been incarcerated for earlier crimes before they make it to the murder level.

Yet we have too many incarcerated - obviously not enough
Incarceration doesn't lower crime - hard to commit crimes from prison
it's too expensive - Google "theft tax" - 20% of retail cost are due to theft and
what is the cost medicially and socially for violent crimes.

The scary part is this is all in large part due to LBJ's great society - 3-4 generations later here we are.

Just wait until the chickens come home to roost from Biden's open borders.

We as a people need to quit subsidizing the life patterns that create this.

Revolving door justice needs to stop.

Your 43 homicides for Baton Rouge is East Baton Rouge Parish.

EBR has 102,000 more people than Orleans (which is entirely New Orleans city limits)

Also an increase in murders after the 2019 St G vote.

The Broome years look like more of a catalyst than Katrina. NOLA laps EBR..... it ain't Katrina any more.

I live in BR but am in NOLA at least two days a week and feel safer in BR because the violence in BR is so localized- and in a completely different part of town with very few exceptions. In NOLA it can touch you all over the city. I think NOLA is more dangerous for honkies and EBR for gangstas. Or maybe both are dangerous if you are in a gang. Or from the wrong hood.
