Someone is mad at the truth and downvoting all the posts. Your downvoting won’t change the truth!

Doesn’t the Left want less police in their neighborhoods? A thank you is in order

Have you lived under a rock the last 20 years? When you see a motorcycle cop pull over a Tahoe for speeding, you realize it's all about the cash.

Also, by eliminating voluntary overtime, BRPD will no longer have the ability to concentrate on special areas with specific crime trends such as armed robberies at Christmas and all downtown events, parades, walks/runs, etc.," Paul wrote. The cuts would preclude Paul from implementing the pay raises he and the mayor have been promising to his officers. The Baton Rouge Fire Department, in its message to the administration, said having to slash 20% from its budget, approximately $9.9 million, would make it impossible to maintain its Class 1 rating, the top classification. If it lowers, the insurance rates for the property owners would increase.
Aren’t all of these not available to people not living in BR proper?

This reminds me of a child cursing their parents and then the parents kick the kid out. The child turns around and sues the parents to get back home because they can't make it on their own.

Why would this affect the DA?
And I also question the Police Department. Does St. George currently pay taxes to cover BRPD? BRPD never has patrolled or covered the areas outside incorporated Baton Rouge (Sheriff handles that).
I also wonder about BRFD. St George Fire Department has always had their own tax and I don't think BRFD responds outside incorporated Baton Rouge.

I wish Lakeview would do this to New Orleans

BRPD and BRFD get a certain apportionment of the General Fund by law.
Which means that StG currently subsidizes BRPD and BRFD by about $26m annually.

The Mall of Louisiana was 100% safer when the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office had it. When BRPD came they brought trouble with them.

You can't say those things. They don't fit the narrative.

Did not know that.

Here is a start-
Cut Tarsha et all’s apportionment from the taxes.
Too bad those are dedicated property taxes that the voters of EBR so wisely approved a few years ago. You have 8 more years of paying those before they'll be up for renewal.
ETA: Actually I think 7 more... that was a 10-year tax voted on in 2016 so collected in 2017, 18, 19 so far.

Pretty sure the Parish Council has to vote to apportion the tax revenue for that vote even though it passed.
Don’t know if it is annual or if it is whenever the election is held, but there was a tight vote on it where Tarsha ended up getting her money.

This will not be a problem going forward because if the current BR murder rate stays on course there will be no one left to provide services to and therefore no services needed.

I think so, but I don't think they can use it elsewhere.
That wouldn't make much sense.
Or maybe it was approved once and then that's it until the tax is renewed. If it's renewed.
And yes Freiberg cowarded out and went with the COA on the vote to apportion their tax revenue. Did she win her state rep race?

Why are taxes from an unincorporated area of the parish being taken to use for funding an incorporated area's separate police force. St George taxes should be funding EBRSO, not BRPD
